Roaming around the campus premises to familiarise himself with the new environment, Arnav finally settled on the big lawn where numerous students were sitting, having lunch and gossiping. He had successfully found a silent corner on the green grass, where he could sit down in peace and process his thoughts. Flushing down all negative vibes, Arnav considered it a positive thing that Lavanya was absent today.

Had she been here today, then maybe he wouldn't have been so much prepared as to what to tell her and how to proceed with bringing her back into his life. He had tried to win Lavanya's love alone after their break-up, and it failed big time. He made it a must to use this one day in university to concoct a well-defined plan, and for this, he needed help, despite having a rough idea of what to do. Yes, Arnav Singh Raizada needed help …an ally in this university.

"Khushi, let us go and chat with him! Look poor chap is sitting all alone there!" NK said.

"Me talking to Mr Batameez? Hahaha!!" Khushi replied in a sarcastic tone before adding "Nanhe, why are you such a softie? Anyway, you go if you want to!! I need to go to the canteen for a moment!"

Within seconds, NK walked towards Arnav who had become a sort of inspirational figure for him, given his academic brilliances and his Harvard experience.

"Hi Harvard dude" NK exclaimed with a Yo sign.

"Hi…it's Arnav!" Arnav answered raising an eyebrow.

While NK installed himself comfortably on the lawn, Arnav slyly turned to see whether Khushi was around and heaved a sigh of relief to note she wasn't. Thank god, he thought. In a momentary lapse of time, NK bombarded him with questions about Harvard, and it instantaneously clicked in Arnav's mind that NK would be the perfect one to help him.

"So you want me to guide you and help you with the formalities to apply for a postgraduate course at Harvard?" Arnav asked.

"Yeah…yeah I would love it!" NK enthusiastically said.

"Ok done deal!! I will help you, but I also need your help! You gain something and I also gain something, fair enough right?"

"As long as you don't ask me to rob a bank!" NK laughed at his own joke before realising Arnav still maintained serious expressions.

"Let it remain a secret between the two of us!! I need your help to solve a major problem … it concerns my girlfriend…actually my ex whom I want back and since she is in your class, I thought you might be of great help!"

NK stood up "Wait wait wait, girls are the most complicated creatures on Earth, no on the entire galaxy!"

"Excuse me! Girls are complicated?" Khushi's voice had startled both Arnav and NK who turned at their back to notice Khushi standing, one hand on the hip and the other holding a box full of jalebis, staring at them with glaring eyes.

"What were you talking about?" a curious Khushi asked while gorging on jalebis.

Arnav could not refrain himself from staring at Khushi gulping those sweets with such appetite…she seemed like a child who had never seen food ever before. It was like an automated gesture that she had developed: take one jalebi, close her eyes and smell its desi scent, open her eyes and bite a morsel, subsequently taking more bites and licking each of her fingers. While Khushi was still in her jalebi trance, Arnav quickly signalled NK not to divulge what they were talking of but it was too late.

"Nothing much! We were only talking about Arnav needing help to win her girlfriend back!" NK revealed.

"What the hell! Do you even know the meaning of secrets?" Arnav let out, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Oops sorry Arnav" NK touched his ear.

Khushi had stopped munching, her eyes popping out and her mouth forming a perfect O-shape. Had she heard right? She quickly pushed NK aside, and sat next to Arnav with curiosity overwhelming her to such an extent that she was all ears to listen to him.

"So you have come here for a girl?" Khushi asked with a mischievous smile paving its way on her face.

"O please! Mind your own business!! We just talked about a girl! Never have I said that I have come for a girl!" Arnav tried to justify.

"OMG so it's true you have come here for a girl!! No need to lie!! I am the best lie detector ever…just seeing how you are getting defensive already confirms it!! I knew it!! I knew it was impossible for any person to continue studying like that!! Actually it's a good thing..it proves you are not that much of a weirdo" Khushi blabbered.

"I really wonder why people call you Miss Chatterbox!" Arnav told cynically.

"Today's sensational news: Arnav Singh Raizada, the Harvard prodigy, has come to Delhi University for a girl, and in the process is giving tough competition to Romeo, Majnu and Ranjha!" Khushi voiced, clutching her stomach trying hard to suppress her laughter.

No longer able to tolerate Khushi's jabber, Arnav brought his hand to her mouth in an attempt to shut her up.

"Listen drama queen! Better you keep quiet, or else…" Arnav furiously said.

"Hmm hmm hmm hmm" came from Khushi mouth who couldn't utter anything as her mouth was blocked, and she moved her eyes towards Arnav's hand which he soon retracted to hear "Or else what! Hey Devi Maiyya, I am so scared!". NK who had been witnessing the whole scene as a silent spectator tried to play the intermediary and calm down the situation.

"Sshh both of you!! So childish! Can we come to a final decision? You know Arnav, who better than Khushi can help you in girls' matters! She is a girl after all!!"" NK attested.

"Okay, so what is her name?" Khushi asked Arnav.

Arnav felt sceptic at the idea of divulging the fact that Lavanya was his girlfriend to a girl whom he hardly could trust, but right now, he urgently needed help, and NK was right. Khushi being a girl would know best what to do in such situations. And there was no turning back : both NK and Khushi were already aware that he had come to university for a girl.

"She studies in your class…Lavanya" Arnav said.

The moment that followed was one of pure silence that soon was interrupted by a series of choking fits emanating from Khushi who quickly answered : "I am ready to help you!"

"Really? But why?" Arnav asked inquisitively.

"You see this!" Khushi pointing to her heart "It is as large as your ego! And it's in my nature to help people who need help! I will be blessed to help you, really!" Khushi giggled.

"You know her, right? Is she your friend?" Arnav asked.

"If I know her? If she is my friend? You must be kidding…La and me are the best of friends! We share a special, very special friendship! Just wait and see how Nanhe and I will help you! Trust me" Khushi let out, her mouth speaking words that her mind hardly thought of.

"Okay!" Arnav replied, looking dumbfounded that Khushi accepted to help him "I have some formalities to complete! So shall we meet in say one hour to discuss all of this?"

"Yeah sure!" Khushi expressed.

As soon as Arnav left, NK looked at Khushi with questioning eyes and asked "Khushi, what are you up to? It's Lavanya, he is speaking of!!"

"Ab aayega mazaa!! This is what I call hitting two birds with one stone! It's a perfect opportunity to seek revenge from that arrogant, haughty, selfish, eccentric, 'I am the Queen' Lavanya! And my luck, Mr Batameez is also involved in the game…they both will not be spared, I swear! Devi Maiyya, please shower your grace on me so that your Khushi is triumphant!"

Chapter 2 : The Plan will be up next week !!

I put a note in my SS yesterday and I will just reiterate it here for non-readers of the SS that I will be updating only once per week now!! All the blame on studies!! 😆
