Today I was ashamed again of my favorite serial.

Saas bahu politics is different

People plotting against each other is different

Kitchen politics is different

Business rivalry and other things is different...

Other serials follow these cheap tracks

And I keep claiming to the world IPK is different

But it sinks so low each time it humiliates a woman

Each time it calls a woman characterless

Each time it makes a woman ashamed of being a woman

Each time a woman is called a home breaker

Each time a man is glorified for his sins

Each time it holds the woman accountable...

And each time it does not do justice by proving these women innocent completely

Today I hang my head in shame to watch this show

Yet again malign a woman

In front of society

In front of her own daughters

In front of her own husband

In front of her daughter's in-laws

...Deeply ashamed of this character assasination of a woman

and that too a poor woman

Today Garima was insulted like Khushi was

And will either of the woman be praised the same way they were humiliated?

If they are that will be the day I will be proud of this show

Rima, great post as always.

The writers of this show thrive on humiliating women and showing Khushi's pain, always have. I saw this coming as soon as they introduced the Dadi character.

They brought her on so she could humiliate Khushi every chance she gets and Arnav could look like a hero. Glorify men, make women look weak. What did that do for the ratings? I just hope they remember the audience of this show is different.

But I loved the Khushi I saw today.

This time, Khushi will be strong and stand up for herself and her family. She shouldn't take any more humiliation from those idiots. Give it back to them. I swear the ratings will increase if they do.

P.S. The one positive...I love LM. The direction was brilliant. I love how he focused on Khushi's reactions every time, as the truth was revealed to her. It was a vital scene of the show that was important for them to get right. And he got it right.

but rima isnt this a true reflection of our society? like it or not, this is a man's world...yes it is especially bad in south Asia but it holds true in the West too - if a woman sleeps around, she is a s**t. if a man sleeps around, he is experienced.

don't get me wrong...i am not supporting AT ALL what they had on the screen today...

i HATE IT. i hate the degradation of women. the blatant implications that it is ALWAYS a woman's fault. yes the serial depicted that. but i think it is just depicting what is out there in the real world. and you know what is the WORST part of all this: it is usually other women who are pointing the finger.

anjali, mami, nani: everyone is questioning garima...TURN AROUND AND QS DADI. why the hell did she not tell them earlier? EFF YOU!

anjali, mami, nani: why the hell did you not ask your FRIGGIN SON IN LAW A DAMN SINGLE QUESTION when the last time we had a public khushi humiliation session. EFF YOU ALL!

today i actually cried for khushi and for garima. yeah i know they are fictional characters...but they represent downtrodden women everywhere.

while i was proud of khushi for having more balls than everyone standing in that godforsaken place - but i still cried for her.

khushi today has gone through all the pain the rest of the people standing around have gone through. and she has emerged stronger than any of them.

ps: yeah i felt sorry for ASR in the first 2 mins...but that disappeared pretty fast. like always he has left khushi to deal with things. i want my man to stand up and shield me from harm. khushi honey: he ain't man enough for you. i hope one day he is.

ps: my apologies for the rant and a bit of PG swearing. i can delete it if need be. but im really really angry right now.

Humiliation levels are always crossed in this serial. Each episode it goes even lower than before funny creativity i say.

The CV's happen to be woman themselves amazing irony of the show we watch.

Rima actually I think the title shud be "Why this serial thrives on character assasination of the wrong people"

There are a lot of characters here whose character deserves to b assassinated like

1) Poojali

2) Shyam Jha

3) Dadi Malik

4) Senior Malik

5) Mami

But this serial character assassination is done of people with a good character. What a show it was a woman who ran from responsibility talking abt good parenting to Garima. This woman whose both son's reflected the kind of upbringing she gave them; one a lying cheat and another a money minded jerk who threw his nephew niece away for their money is talking abt wrong doing.

What a joke it was mami who after being a servant in the house trapped the son and blamed garima. What a joke it was to hear the perfectly illogical statement that Garima and her daughters r responsible for Arnav's mom's death when the daughters were not even born.

What a joke it is that a dumb woman whose husband tried to kill her brother asked garima y she did not tell them before? Dumbali y did u not see that ur hubby is leech who is basically sucking money out of your brother.

I find the whole think utterly hypocritical and pathetic to core..

But inspite of such assassination, it was equally balnced wid a tigress, self-riteous n a highly dignified Khushi, who trusts her moder d most in d world n fought wid a whole world to defend her moder

So, in dis case, it was Khushi's character glorification n m proud of cvs for dis...

Many of SP bahus r uselss who just stand n watch d dram, oh y only SP? All serials hv dis case...

But she fought n tried to conquer!!

Rima, I know this is disheartening!!

but look at the positive side.. I loved KHUSHI to the CORE...

OMG, she is standing up for her MOTHER in front of the WHOLE WORLD, who is not even biological mother to her!! That's my KHUSHI.. I LOVE HER..

I know if Arnav comes and shuts that 'witch' up, that will be full stop I know.. of course, I want that too and that is probably gonna happen here too.. but I like this pace of the show..

IPKKND is really UNIQUE...

Look at our beloved Khushi... A WOMAN STANDING UP FOR A WOMAN, That's too without any PROOF... how beautiful!! Personally, I'm looking forward to some Khushi-DADI confrontation!! She should show her that she herself is enough to STAND UP against the evil.. I wish they show some scene like her resignation scene, one of my favorites..

ARSHI-pair is unique.. Only Khushi can give Arnav the strength he needs at this moment.. of course he will remember her & will come..

You're right. I will be okay about all this if the tracks takes a turn where the women A.K.A Khushi shows who's boss and tell this pathetic family off. Although she did stand for her mother today and the tigeress was back, but yet still got humiliated for something that bas***d ( Arnav's dad) did. And Dadi needs a good slap to fall off a black hole.
