he and Mohini had to have ayyapan beacuse one asur very smartly asked that his death should be by the son of Mahadev and Vishnu-hence Mohini(an avatar of Vishnu) and Shiva had to have a child,so it was more a need of the hour over anything else!

but in my opinion many folklore's have sensationalized the story far too much-TOO MUCH😆,and made it sound like he fell in love with Mohini and all those things!

Mohni did emerge during the Samdura Manthan-but she was more like a form rather than an avatar of Vishnu meant to be taken when needed
and the Ayyapan incident happened much later!

Make that her. The asuri in question was Mahishi - sister of Mahishashur. She wanted to avenge her brother's death @ the hands of Ma Durga, so she did her penances to Brahma, and asked him to grant that she be slain by the offspring of Shiva & Vishnu. I'm guessing that Mahadev couldn't be the female in this relationship, so it fell on Narayan herself 😆 as Mohini.

Narayan took that Mohini form on 3 instances - the samudra manthan, the destruction of Bhasmasura and the birth of Manikanthan/Ayappa.

Back to the original question, I too am familiar w/ these 4 - Kartikeya, Ganesh, Manasi Devi and Ayappa. On top of that, there were 2 more creations by Mahadev alone, not involving Parvati - a one eyed demon Andhaka, and another was the planet Mars. On Parvati's end, other than Vinayak/Ganesh, she never tried to create anybody on her own.
