One can't forget the candid and witty Dr. J. Asthana of Munnabhai MBBS whose unexpected giggles and his laughter therapy got Boman Irani much deserved and hitherto elusive recognition.

Irani plays Lucky Singh – a loud rich Punjabi builder in Lage Raho Munnabhai , which stars Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan in the lead roles.

A colourful character, Lucky's priorities in life are money and family, and he is willing to go to any length for both. When he's not multiplying his money, Lucky is busy adding to his vast collection of doctored photographs, which have him standing next to the likes of George Bush.

Commenting on his role in the film Irani told a news agency in Jaipur, "You won't find Dr. J. Asthana this time, as I am playing a character of a builder and he is also a comical character."

On his role in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Don , Irani said, "In 'Don' all I can tell you is that I am playing the same role of an inspector that was played by Iftekharji."

Irani said that although his interests include photography, theatre and even singing, it is acting that gives him a real kick. "I believe there is much acting left in me and I have not yet planned a career when the actor in me burns out."

Although his comic roles have been much appreciated, he wants to explore other character roles. "I love playing grey shades or an out-and-out villainous character," said Irani, who was in Jaipur for an entertainment show.

In his upcoming movie 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' Irani is playing a villain. "People who have enjoyed watching me in Munnabhai will definitely love 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'," he said.

" Irrespective of box-office response, every film I do is special for me," he said. "What is really important is enjoying your own work and having faith in your abilities and your director," he added.

In his opinion Rajpal Yadav and Paresh Rawal are the finest actors and comedians in the recent times

"The way they portray their characters in their films be it is a witty or serious character they are always natural with it. The best thing in their acting is that both of them while playing their character look natural and effortless," he said.
