Didnt understand about :

THE United states of America and The India.

Indians call India INDIA, not The India so..what exactly was the point?

Anyways i found the premise of the film different but the lines are pheeka.

not really that interesting. had anyone else other than Sridevi been in it,

I dont think distributors would hv been willing to touch it; they would call it

a small film or somethng

Indians do call India INDIA, but a lot of people who are not very fluent with the language use THE in the wrong places. It was just to point out that Sridevi's character Shashi is poor in English and the genuine doubt she gets as to why people use THE before USA and not India.

I love the trailer! The whole language thing is fun for me since my better half is a language nerd! I discover fun stuff every day about different languages & culture!

The is placed in front of the full form of USA because the word that follows is "united". It is referring to specific states that came together to form the United States of America. Similarly, we say the United Arab Emirates. It's referring to specific states or specific emirates.

Really looking forward to Sri Devi's movie. It looks like it would be really nice. Kinda has a "Namesake" feel to it. And also reminds me of the series, "Mind Your Language". I really hope it's good. When is it expected to release?
