Is it just me who is bothered by how Arpita had been asking Yash to never love anyone except her. Granted no woman wants to share her husband with anyone, and its equally stomach turning to watch mahaan characters like purvi, hitler didi, toasty give away their husbands... i just find it strange that arpita, has been claiming yash to never love anyone else so emphatically that even after her death yash cant move on.

I don't think arpita ever asked Yash to promise it in the sense u think, its just that Yash himself had said that to her, and after her death, had made that promise to himself.

It wasn't vow exchanged between them. Arpita never asked Yash to love her only. It was implicit that he will always love her. Arpita died but that implicit love is still there where Arpita is only one whom Yash can love. Death didn't change meaning of their relation.

I don't think Arpita ever explicitly demanded that kind of promise from Yash but it was very implicit in her interactions with Yash. During the Pub incident, when Yash jokes that he is going to find someone else, she teases him saying that he will never be able to find someone like her. You can look at it as a good natured teasing from Arpita but knowing Yash's extreme passionate way of thinking things, those kind of statements must have made a huge impact on how he views the concept of love and second chances.

So yup on one hand she loved him immensely and gave him a lot of strength and support but she I definitely feel her kind of love had shackled him rather than set him free.

Just an example: say Yash had betrayed someone (like he feels he betrayed Arpita with the consummation) and he goes on to do all the crazy things he has been doing now including the death inducing boxing match. I don't think if Arpita was alive she would ever have backed away. She would have made him stop by hook or crook maybe by even using emotional blackmail (I thought it was so interesting that Yash thought Aarti was going to do that using the kids). Knowing what little we do of Arpita, I don't think she would have taken a step back like Aarti did and say "if he really wants to do this then he is going to do it with me standing by his side". Aarti has done it before too during Neelam track. When she felt he wouldn't listen, she decides to stand by him. I think it gives Yash a sense of freedom and liberation to make choices (wether good or bad) rather than someone forcing him to do things they think is right.

I think I may have gone totally on a different tangent. Sorry. 😳

Absolutely agree with you. Arpita never said that but it was the promis he made to himselfand that is why it is bothering him so much that he not only betrayed Arpita but also himself and his promise, that is why so much guilt

I don't believe it's strange at all. Arpita behaved just as any wife would, asking her husband never to love any woman again, because while she's alive she cannot conceive of her husband loving someone else, that's natural. Arpita never foresaw her death. Who would? While alive, she wished for Yash's undivided love and that wasn't wrong of her. What is wrong now is that Yash is using her memory to torture Aarti mentally. We all know Arpita loved Yash so much that her soul would want Yash to move on and experience love again, but Yash does not realize that and that's his fault, not Arpita's.

I agree. Arpita never "asked" Yash to love her only. It's a natural expectation between a married couple, and neither Yash nor Arpita were wrong in thinking that they would be each other's eternal soulmate. Neither could foresee what would happen in the future, no one ever does because such tragedy does not happen to anyone. They had a happy life together in the five years they were married, so it's natural for Yash to feel like he betrayed Arpita. What is wrong though is that he's mentally torturing and blaming Aarti for their consummation, instead of acknowledging that he was the one who initiated it.

arpita is a matured wife. the way cvs showed her positivity surely tells us arpita never promised yash like that.its all yash's own imagination and must have promised on arpita's funeral.
