I guess yesterday's epi was a bit of an anti-climax...here, we were all expecting an emotional reunion...instead we got another mini MU...but then bouncers and googlies are a significant part of the writers' repertoire...I know the idea of a show is to sit back and munch popcorn while watching the story unfold...nobody wants to deconstruct at 11' o clock at night...but well, anything for the love of this show...we chose to watch it after all...and if it takes more effort than normal to interpret, then so be it...
Scene 1 - I thought that was pretty much self-explanatory...of course there was that beautiful moment of perfect understanding...when Nidhi turned to Ashu for reassurance after informing the cops of Amar's innocence...and he gave her a tired and yet understanding half-smile before slumping into her arms...beautiful...moments like these make the show worth the effort...
Scene 2- the Amar -Nidhi convo - I thought Nidhi was in masterni mode...she wanted Amar to understand what she felt for her husband...and she also wanted him to move on and live a purposeful life...she was like an indulgent teacher dealing gently with a student who was crushing on her...even if he was the reason for whatever happened, he had tried to set things right and helped in getting Ashu back safe and sound for her...and that is all that mattered...she did not want to hold anymore grudges...she just wanted the guy to go and live his life in peace...I think Ashu and Nidhi are very similar that way...neither holds grudges after a point...if Ashu tried to lighten the atmosphere so Mallika could leave with a relatively light heart, Nidhi did the same with Amar...I think their love has put them in such a happy place that they don't want to nurse grudges at large...that is the positive effect love has had on them...
Scene 3 - the cabin scene - this was quite a googly...but the clues were there all over the place... Nidhi of course just wanted everything back to normal...so, she came running to him once the dressing etc were done...but AShu had other plans... Ashu wanted to do something big and grand...something special to make their reunion sweeter... so he had to play a game...he had to pick up a fight with her...push all those buttons that he knew would get Nidhi to react...and he did just that...and Nidhi reacted exactly as he expected...she left in a huff...mission accomplished...and yet he was sad that he had to hurt her again...but what's gotta be done's gotta be done...!
Scene 4 - Nidhi - DB convo - I think DB hit the nail on the head...when she spoke of how fights are sometimes just games that couples play...Nidhi did not sense the wisdom in her words then...
Scene 5- Ashu cabin- Here again, Ashu did not pay much heed to Ahana or Ranga...he knew what he was doing...and he was freeing himself up to focus on wifey dear alone...
Scene 6 - Verma House- CV and DB, who may be in on Ashu's plans, are waiting for Nidhi to go to the hospital...but maybe the night and DB's words have gotten Nidhi's grey cells to work overtime...she has finally understood what her husband is doing...and has decided to beat him at his own game...
Scene 7 - With all plans in place, Ashu looks for Nidhi...only to be told that she has taken time off...he calls her home...and learns the bird has flown the coop...leaving clues behind on the direction of its flight...
And so the treasure hunt begins...
When couples play their games, you don't analyse or dub them as immature or chauvinistic...you just sit back and watch the fun!
