Part 17
"I will take her to her father." She repeated his words.
It means that I won't be able to see him again. Will he be gone forever? Will he leave me? Her grief stricken eyes were glancing at him. But Arnav's eyes were fixed on Akash as he got out of the jeep and made his way towards the car where Payal was sitting. Payal was busy in observing Khushi from head to toe. She muttered something as Akash sat beside her. Payal started the car, without removing her gaze from Khushi.
Arnav turned back towards Khushi as soon as Akash and Payal were out of the sight.
"Come, we are getting late. Just get into the car." Arnav ordered and Khushi limped slightly as she walked to sit on her seat, but it was totally missed by him. She still had pain in her feet that got hurt while they were running. Arnav was so busy in ignoring her that he didn't realize it.
Taking a deep breath, he started driving the car while his face was rigid and his eyes were fixed on the road.

Do pal ruka khwaabon ka kaarvaan
Aur phir chal diye tum kahaan hum kahaan
Do pal ki thi ye dilon ki daastaan
Aur phir chal diye tum kahaan hum kahaan
Aur phir chal diye tum kahaan hum kahaan
For a few moments the caravan of dreams stopped
Then you walked the other way,I walked some other
This tale of hearts was of few moments
Then you walked the other way,I walked some other
All the sweet moments of their togetherness flashed in his mind. He didn't know what was still binding them together. He was her enemy. ONLY ENEMY!!!
My sole purpose is the destruction of Gupta's and she is the daughter of my enemy. Then why the hell am I caring for her. Why her tears are making me restless?
He increased the speed of the car in frustration as he didn't want to think about it anymore but still a smile crept on his lips as he recalled her innocent talks and her nonstop blabbering, not to forget her cursing program.
Khushi glanced at him and was astonished to see smile on his face. He had actually smiled. It was something he had not done since ages.
Tum the ke thi koi ujli kiran
Tum the ya koi kali muskaayi thi
Were it you or was it some bright beam of light
Were it you or had some bud smiled
Tum the ya tha sapnon ka tha saawan
Tum the ke khushiyon ki ghata chhaayi thi
Were it you or was it a monsoon of dreams
Were it you or was ia clowd of happiness
Tum the ke tha koi phool khila
Tum the ya mila tha mujhe naya jahaan
Were it you or had some flower blossomed
Had you met me or had I met a new world
He again made a serious face as soon as he realized he was smiling and then cursed her.
She has bewitched me, woman. Just leave her from where she has come. It is better for both of us. Don't you know these women? These melodramatic creatures... He tightened his grip on the steering of the car.
Have you forgotten what she did in the morning? I know that somewhere I was wrong. I did force her. I did put her in the vulnerable condition. But despite everything, how can she accuse me of something which is not possible in this state of hers. And she was not unconscious or something. She was just sleeping
If I did something then why the hell she didn't stop me? He thought.
He wanted to ask her why she didn't stop him but somehow it felt better to take all blame on him rather than accusing her with those shameful words.
Tum the ya khushboo hawaaon mein thi
Tum the ya rang saari dishaaon mein the
Were it you or was there a fragnance in the air
Were it you or there were colours in all directions
Tum the ya roshni raahon mein thi
Tum the ya geet goonje fizaaon mein the
Were it you or was it an illumination on the path
Were it you or was there music in the air
Tum the mile ya mili thi manzilein
Tum the ke tha jaadoo bhara koi sama
Had I met you or had I met my destination
Were it you or was that period of time filled with magic
Khushi was sitting there, lost in her own world when his voice broke her chain of thoughts.
"You won't get pregnant stop shedding your crocodile tears." His voice was brusque and cold.
Though his words were full of sarcasm yet she felt like believing them. Despite her so called knowledge, she felt like trusting him. His few words did stop her tears.
Oh man, she is crying. I should make her understand. But what am I supposed to tell her?
Sorry, I didn't mean to kiss you each time but I couldn't control myself. Or, sorry I shouldn't have done that.
What excuse I will give her when I myself don't know any????????????? And oh damn, I don't even feel sorry for all this.
Car came to halt when they reached their destination.
"Don't leave me." Her muffled sobs reached his ear.
The fact that she would no longer be able to see him was devastatingly painful right now. He didn't answer and swallowed the billowing lump in his throats.
"You didn't even answer my questions." She pleaded
"What will I do? Whom would I ask? Don't leave me." She hugged him.
Do pal ruka khwaabon ka kaarvaan

Do pal ki thi ye dilon ki daastaan
Aur phir chal diye tum kahaan hum kahaan
Aur phir chal diye tum kahaan hum kahaan

Even she had no idea why she was begging a stranger not to leave her. Unwillingly, they did share a bond. It may not be love right now but everything seemed so beautiful when he was around her, just like sense of security amidst danger.
How can she forget that fact??????????????????????
He didn't answer and gazed out of the window. It took a few seconds to gain his composure. He knew it won't be easy to drift apart right now. He knew he has to be rude with her to make it easy for him and also for her.
"I have better things to do. Don't waste my time." He spat, looking out of the window, not daring to look into her eyes. He lacked the courage to look into those eyes, but strangely, his voice was devoid of usual rudeness-- instead it had helplessness in it.
But she only could hear and understand the words spoken by him. She failed to comprehend pain behind that tone of his.
Maybe, it's better this way. If she will hate me or have bad memories, it would be easy to wipe off everything from our minds. By our, he meant hers.
"Now get off. I don't have all day for you. I will leave you with your dad and then I am gone. Job finish, I told you earlier, it's just professional, nothing less, nothing more."
He clenched his fists tightly, still looking out of the window. She tried to get off the jeep but her ankle was badly hurt.
"Ouch," She winced in pain and he didn't miss that.
"Wait," He stopped her.
There was a sudden pass of hope in her eyes, which was shattered very next moment.
"Are you hurt?" He asked her, rising from his place. He came around and picked her up.
"I have to get you back within 24 hours and your slow walk will waste my time, so I would carry you there." He lied as efficiently as he could.
"Leave me." She wriggled but he paid no attention to her and kept walking.
"I said leave me." She started hitting his rock hard chest with her tiny fists but even that didn't affect him. He just kept walking at a steady pace, without sparing her a single glance. But his grip on her got strengthened as her retaliation increased.
************
Suraj Gupta was sitting with Mehra and Nand Kishor.
He looked at Mehra and then his eyes went to his watch.
"Look, only 5 minutes are left. I told you before; he is just an arrogant young man, nothing more. He won't be able to succeed. It's one thing to claim something and entirely different to do it. God knows in what condition Khushi would be right now? We wasted so much time because of that Arnav Raizada."
His words were in his mouth when Arnav entered the office, carrying her in his arms. Mehra smiled proudly and looked at Suraj.
"Check again, Suraj." He chuckled. "One minute is still remaining. I told you, 24 hours." He then diverted his attention to Arnav and failed to notice the pale face of Suraj Gupta who was sitting as if he has seen some ghost or some or someone has snatched the ground under his feet.
Khushi was in arms of a man. The sight was totally unbearable for him. His blood started to boil. He didn't even care if she was alright. She would rather have her dead then in someone else arms. He was least bothered to know the reason why he was carrying her.
Nand Kishor's mouth was half open. He gazed at Suraj and then at Arnav.
What these eyes are witnessing? Nand Kishor settled his glasses properly on his nose and then looked again to confirm if it was true.
Suraj Gupta seemed to be in a mood to kill Arnav. But he failed to decide whom he should pity. Because Arnav seemed to be so intimidating and daring, like he could be the only competition to Suraj. It was quiet evident from his demeanor that he was not a kind of man whom anyone could mess with.
I am unable to decide who is to be dreaded more, Suraj Prata or this man? I mean just look at him. He seems to be so intimidating and deadly. I think he can give competition to Guptas. But why is he carrying Khushi. Is she alright?
He wanted to ask but kept mum because he couldn't cross his line and speak in front of Gupta. He silently prayed in his heart.
Oh God, I just pray Khushi is alright. If some goons would have done something bad with her, no one would pity her. They would only kill her on fake honor and name. Why Khushi has to born in this family. She didn't deserve this life.
Arnav walked arrogantly towards the empty chair and completely ignoring Suraj. He placed her on the chair carefully and turned towards Mr Mehra.
"24 hours, Job done." He only said two words, turning around and started to walk out when Suraj stopped him.
"Wait, Mr Arnav." He stopped but his back was facing Suraj.
"I owe you young man." He continued but Arnav didn't move a muscle. He took a blank check and signed it.
"Fill as much money as you want." Suraj said and looked proudly at Mehra who gave him warning glare and shook his head in disagreement because he has already told Suraj that Arnav never worked for money.
Arnav turned whipped around to face.
"Well, I thought that she was priceless." He smirked and Suraj got red with anger.
"I mean, human life is priceless, Mr Gupta. Isn't it? Mr Gupta, fill this check yourself." He answered calmly.
Suraj took the check and filled the amount and handed to Arnav.
Arnav took the check and smiled at the amount he filled.
"Well, I will send you double this amount in one hour. Think it as a gift, Mr Gupta." He raised his one eyebrow as he said those words and turned around again, leaving flabbergasted Suraj Gupta behind.
