PART 3

The clock was slowly ticking indicating the passing of time. With each passing second I was getting restless. There were still 20 min. left to the time when mayank would come up to pick me up. I was nervous and was having goosebumps. My heart was beating at a speed that I couldn't even imagine. I didn't know what was making me so anxious. It was just a simple trip to go back to home and that to with my classmate who happened to be my friend. But thinking that that friend was mayank made me hyperventilate. I decided to call mom and get my nerves calm down a bit. I had told her already about my coming home with mayank. Initially she a bit hesitant but when I convinced her shr gave a green signal but after a series of instrutions and u may guess what they can be. Mom picked up on 3^rd ring and greeted me cheerfully. She started talking asking me various questions on whether I have packed or not , about when will I reach home, am I bringing any good dresses as a lot of people back home were waiting to meet me as I was first doctor from my family. I didn't realize when time slipped away. I got reminded of that by the call waiting of mayank. On seeing his call waiting I literally jumped out of my skin and all that nervousness , Anxiousness and excitement returned to me. I quickly said bye to mom and called mayank back with thudding heart. He answered on 1^st ring. My heart I felt like stopped beating on hearing his voice. I was completely clueless to why was all this happening. But all of it felt good. So I let it be. Mayank told me that he was outside my hostel waiting for me. I told him that I'll be down in 5 min. and kept the phone down. I quickly grabbed my bags and after a quick check of myself and my room I dashed out. I said my byes to all my friends and literally ran to avoid teasing by them as they knew that I was going with mayank.

I came outside the hostel and found him waiting at nescafe. He was looking handsome in the blue-white t-shirt he had worn over blue jeans. Wait! What was I thinking?? Mayank is a friend'I should not think like this for him!! Control nupur! Control!! I kept telling my stupid heart and mind'.

I reached to where he was standing. On seeing me he smiled. Wow!!! What a smile it was!! That's what is known as a killer smile!! Huhh?? Nupur!! Whats wrong with u?? what are u thinking!! I scolded myself.

'hi!' I said to him'heis smile grew bigger on hearing my "hi"'he replied "hey! Ready to go??"

I said "yes'."

On hearing me, he again flashed his dimpled smile and started walking towards me. I didn't understand what was happening' I stood routed to the spot'.he kept moving and was now just 1 step away from me. I held my breath anticipating his next move. He bent down but his eyes never left my face...I felt my breath caught in my throat'.he stood up again and moved away...I released my breath...he looked me in the eye and said "don't worry dear'.i was just picking up your bag' so shall we move?"

He said all this so simply'..i was left confused and slightly irritated at his behavior. I looked away from him and started walking away without replying to him. I felt a jerk in my wrist making me stop. I turned around to find him holding my wrist. I realisied goosebumps rising all over my body on his touch but I controlled myself and said a little rudely to him "what?"

He realized stiffness in my body and rudeness in my voice coz he immediately left my hand. I felt something leave me when he left my hand but I ignored the feeling and concentrated on him.

He took a step close to me and said " I am sorry"

I didn't really like him saying sorry to me but I replied "its ok.."

"so let's go'we are getting late'" he said with a smile and making a cute face. Now how could I say no to that smile and such a cute face. I just gave him my smile and nodded my head. I could a gush of relief wash over his face on seeing my smile. I felt good on seeing this.

We stared walking together talking along the way as his car was parked a little outside the campus of our hostels'we kept walking when I suddenly realized that from past 15 min. I was continuously speaking without giving mayank a chance to speak. I stopped talking. He immediately looked at me and said " why did you stop??".

The way he asked me the question I knew he didn't like it. I replied " I just realized that I was speaking from past few minutes without giving you a chance to speak. You must have gotten bored."

He gave me a amused look and smiled. I was left confused with his behavior. Shouldn't he be annoyed with me?? And here he was smiling at me'was this man nuts???

Mayank clicked his fingers in front of me and asked me with his hand gesture what happened. I just shaked my head in a no and shrugged my shoulders. He stared at me and then said " I like to hear you talk. I like to hear your voice. So don't ever feel like you are boring me as I am myself a man of few words but am a very good listener'"

He gave me a reassuring nod and motioned his hand in a way to say to start walking'.i was left dazed by his answer and felt bubble of happiness bursting inside me. I smiled involuntarily which didn't go unnoticed by him. He said to me " smile karti raha karo'.it makes you look charming'!" I felt blood rushing to my cheeks and Immediately turned my face away lest he would see me blushing. I didn't want things to become awkward between us.

It felt as if God also wanted the same as we reached the parking area at the same time. I thanked my stars for saving me.

Mayank turned towards me and said " wait here till I get the car out. I wont take long so don't worry." He ended with a smile and went inside. I was left wondering what more was going to happen today''..little did I had the idea that this trip that I was about to take was going to give me most beautiful gift of life''.😳😳😊
