Janamastami arrives with Ambika putting her all into it, amidst the arrival of her parents. Kamini and Vibha put a great show of hospitality and sweetness before them, and yet Vibha, when alone in the kitchen, poisons a 'thaal' of 'laddoos'. She has Ambika serve them to Kamini, who turns, instantly, blue with illness. As the doctor declares it a case of poisoning, Vibha raises a huge storm over Ambika's deliberate designs, egging Sameer to throw her out, which he finally gets up to do, as Ambika's parents stand by, aghast!
