Can any of you knowledgeable souls shed some light on the 108 births of adi shakti and the need for so?

I only know two that is Mata Sati n Mata Parvati which they showed...

there is katyani (durga), vaisnavi (vaisno devi), kanyakumari, mahakali, brahmacharini...there are many stories...i dnt remember name of all...but my mother always chant a sloka which hav all 108 names...these births are to kill some demon...and every birth she has to marry mahadev...

These are all forms of Parvati Maa. They are not rebirths like sati and parvati

i dnt know about that...but i think they are rebirth...as katyani she became the daughter of rishi katyana...he had prayed for a daughter who can kill mahisasur after the demon killed some of his disciples...and as vaisnavi, shes born to the queen of some king (dnt remember his name)...he was a great devotee and done tapasya and adishakti blessed him to be born as her daughter...so its some type of rebirth...

Katyayani, Shailputi, Brhmacharini, Kali etc. are Various forms of Paravti. Ma Kali was never born, she appeared, she is called Shailputri because shw was Himavan a mountain's daughter, Brhmacharini because she did severe penance, as Katyayani she existed even before the Katyayan muni's story. She is one of the NaviDurga. Vaishnavi was born much later in different Yuga. So her existence in Satyuga is not possible.

All the forms of Parvati, existed after her birth, so can not be called her souls, they are her various forms. A person roams as a soul after his/her death. Parvati is still alive. GoddessAadi Shati takes various forms as per the required task, they can never be mistaken as her souls.
