Chapter Forty: A happily ever after - The EPILOGUE
"Now you officially became my devrani as well as my sister!" Jeevika chirped hugging the new blushing bride.
"And my saali finally became my brother's wife." Viren said hugging Viraat. Viraat rolled his eyes in pretence.
Maanvi and Viraat entered the Vadhera house, there Vanshika welcomed them with a thaali. She applied a tika on their foreheads and told Maanvi to fulfil the customs. Maanvi did happily, she thought about the previous year: Jhanvi and Mahinder finally at peace, and her new relationship with her mother, Padmini. She smiled, not long ago Siddarth and Padmini did her kanyadaan.
Maanvi took her first steps as the Vadhera's youngest bahu, her footsteps indicated in red. Viraat walked behind her, smiling as he finally found the love of his life. And she was his.
"Where's Priya?" Maanvi said looking for her niece.
"Priya is with me." Swamini said holding the one year old girl. Jeevika and Viren smiled as their daughter was the apple of their eyes. "here you go, beta. Go with your maasi." Swamini said giving Priya to Maanvi.
"Maasi? Now you're her Chachi.." Viraat muttered.
"Chachi my foot, Priya will call me Maasi. Won't you?" Maanvi muttered back.
Viraat rolled his eyes as everyone laughed. "These two will never change!" Jeevika giggled.
-
Viraat took his bride into his room –officially their room- he smiled, it was the same room that Maanvi had taken control over not too long ago and now she was forever his. He looked at her as she sat on their bed, being a typical bride, she placed her veil over the head waiting for him to lift it.
He sat opposite her, and carefully lifted the red veil to see her beautiful face. He smiled as she opened her warm brown eyes and winked at him. He touched her cheek with the tips of his fingers and pulled her towards him. For the first time, he didn't reach for her forehead but simply pushed her chin towards his face and placed a delicate kiss on her soft lips.
Maanvi looked at him, content that he will always be hers and will always protect her. She shivered as he took off each of her jewellery; her bangles, her necklace and lastly, her earrings. He knelt down and whispered, "I love you," and kissed her cheek. She closed her eyes, not opening them before he moved onto her other ear and whispered again, "I love you." He held her face and she finally opened her eyes. "I love you." He whispered again and kissed her.
Maanvi surrendered herself to him, smiling as his jokes for making her his wife finally came true. She blushed at the thought that she had finally become his wife in all true sense. The blanket covered them as Maanvi embraced her husband, her life partner.
"I love you Viraat."
Two years later
"Mama!" The three year old Priya called out. Jeevika hurriedly went to her daughter, holding her second and youngest child in her hand, a one year old named Avinash.
"What happened beta?" Jeevika asked.
"Ma, Jhanvi is crying!" Priya spoke out. She was like her mother in many ways, her grace and eyes were similar to that of Jeevika as well as her caring motherly nature to look after her cousin, Jhanvi.
Jeevika looked up to see the one year old Jhanvi in her father's arms. "Viraat." Jeevika spoke. "Is Jhanvi okay?"
"Yes bhabhi. She's fine. She just hurt herself and started crying."
"Chachu!" Priya called out. "I want to play with Jhanvi. I want to play doctor's and patient so I can look after her." Priya said innocently.
Viraat took Jhanvi out of his arms and said to her, "Do you want to play with your Priya di?"
Jhanvi nodded and jumped towards Priya who ran towards the toys. The girls laughed as Priya dressed Jhanvi in bandages.
"Where's bhai?" Viraat asked.
Jeevika rolled her eyes, "Where else? At work as usual!" She huffed.
"Looks like my wife is badmouthing me to my brother." Viren answered out of the blue. Jeevika grinned. "You're just like that." She said leading to a smirk from Viren. "I'm here now just for you, baby." Viren said smoothly. Jeevika laughed calling her husband a fool.
"Anyways, where's my saali?" Viren asked.
"Here I am!" Maanvi replied excitedly, she walked slowly down the stairs, holding her four month pregnant stomach.
"So, saali. Is my brother taking care of you?" Viren asked. Maanvi blushed.
"Nope, your bhai is a chep as usual." She laughed.
"Maanvi Maasi!" Priya called out to her.
"Priya beta, it's chachi! Not maasi!" Viraat corrected her.
"Maanvi Maasi will always be my maasi chachu!" Priya replied cheekily.
Viraat laughed. "One day, one day…" He muttered.
Jeevika and Viren went with their son, Avinash to where Priya and Jhanvi were playing. Viraat sneakily put his hand on Maanvi's growing stomach to which Maanvi rolled her eyes.
"Are you taking care of my daughter?"
"How do you know it'll be a girl?" Maanvi questioned. "It will be a boy."
"Nope, pretty sure it's a girl!"
"A boy!"
"A girl Maanvi. A girl who will be exactly like you."
"Jhanvi is like my, this baby." She pointed to her stomach, "Will be a boy, just like you."
He smiled and pulled her towards him, "Anything for you." He placed a chaste kiss on her forehead before replying cheekily, "So, when shall we have our next kid?"
Maanvi smiled and nudged him before placing a quick kiss on his cheek and placing her head on his shoulders. "I love you Viraat." She said.
"I love you too, Maanvi." he replied.
