Important Note:
Some of you may be confused about what's going on, and yes…I get confused too. You see, when I'm planning I forget that I have already planned and start thinking of new ideas and before you know it, it's a whole new story. Let's get things sorted then shall we?
When the first chapter was written, the month was the middle of October (I'm saying this now in case I haven't said it before). Maanvi has been living with the Vadhera's for about 3 weeks now and that will mean that it's now nearing the middle of November. I was a bit apprehensive about writing about this but I'll just make it clear for those confused, yes Maanvi was born in the middle of November and I have written down the date as 21st November. So yes, it is nearing her birthday. But that's something to do with the plot which you will all have to wait out for. And as for Jeevika's pregnancy, well say she is about couple of weeks pregnant, so if she conceived near the ending of October/beginning of November then she'll give birth around June/July, considering everything will go smoothly.
Also, some asked about Beeji and why the big secret? Well, don't we have family members that hide things because we don't want someone to be hurt? Well, say Beeji is doing that. But remember, everything you've read so far was from Maanvi's mouth, her views…we still don't know what really happened and why Beeji is quiet. As for Beeji allowing Maanvi to go to live in Chandigarh, well in her eyes Chandigarh is no threat. Maanvi simply went on that train (see chapter 1) because it was the first train she saw. She didn't know where her destiny lied, and that's where she met Viraat and it all went from there. Beeji doesn't want her daughter to find out the truth, so she allows Maanvi to be in Chandigarh because she feels that Maanvi won't be able to find out anything, giving Beeji more time to think things through. It will all make sense when everything is revealed.
One last thing, I will say this but the next *Maha* chapter will be around the thirty-sixth chapter, well that is if I write according to my plan. Sorry for this long note but hope it cleared out a few doubts. Thanks guys for reading Finding the light to this far!
Thanks guys for the reviews! If you haven't read my note, please do! (it's on the post above this!)
Chapter Thirty: Because I…
The next day, everyone was bright and early to the breakfast table. Whilst Vanshika made Jeevika eat many healthy foods, Maanvi watched in awe.
"Wow, so in pregnancy a woman should eat all these green stuff?" She said, pulling a face at the sight of vegetables.
Vanshika smiled, "Yes during these months Jeevika should be careful of what to eat and what not to eat. That way the baby can be born healthy."
"By the way, Maanvi." Viraat said, chewing on a piece of bread and swallowing before continuing, "How did you know yesterday that I was going to be an Uncle? You know before Bhai or bhabhi told you. Are you telepathic or something?"
"I may be." She drank some juice, "Actually, I understood. Why else would everyone be silent and di blushing? Just say it's a women's instinct."
Jeevika smiled and looked down, cowering away. Viren put one arm on Jeevika's shoulder before saying, "Actually Viraat. Maanvi is not bad, telepathic today, psychic tomorrow!"
"Vaah! Vaah!" Viraat exclaimed.
Maanvi rolled her eyes before remembering the conversation in Mumbai yesterday. How long can I stay dependant on this family? She thought. My leg has gotten better and I should leave now…and anyways, I have to get to Delhi.
She cleared her throat before putting all her attention on Dadaji, "Actually, Dadaji I have something to say."
Viraat looked at her confused but she ignored him before continuing. "I should go now. How long will I stay with you guys? Urm, and anyways I have to find…a relative in Delhi, so…"
"Maanvi." Jeevika said slightly shocked, "How can you go? No, Maanvi you can't go." She said getting restless.
"Look, Maanvi beta. Maybe you aren't our family member but so what? You can stay here as long as you want. We have no problem with it."
Maanvi started to protest, "No Dadaji, thank you. Actually, I came to Mumbai on some personal job, I went to Mumbai to see my…aunt and then came the topic about Delhi," She looked at Viraat who was clearly upset, he wasn't even looking into her eyes simply looking down, "As soon as I'm done, I'll go back to my hometown, Hrishikesh."
Jeevika started to shake her head, she looked at Viren and gave him a gesture to stop Maanvi. He nodded.
"Look, Maanvi. I know you'll find whoever or whatever you're here for, but.." he sighed. "You see us as a family right? Me your jiju and Jeevika, your di?" Maanvi nodded, "So please don't go. At least don't lose contact…"
Maanvi nodded.
"Actually," Swamini stated in amidst the conversation. "Didn't last night Jeevika wanted to meet her parents?"
"Yeah, buaji. I wanted to personally meet them, and it's been so long that I've been home…" Jeevika replied.
"Yes, and your maayka lives in Delhi right? So do one thing, take Maanvi with you! Maanvi you'll have somewhere to stay whilst you do your thing and Jeevika will also be happy. When you're finished, Jeevika can come home."
Jeevika nodded happily, "Yes buaji. That's a good idea!"
Maanvi grinned, "Really? I can go to meet Jeevika's parents?"
"Why not? After all, they're your parents as well!" Jeevika joked.
"Then it's sorted. Maanvi will go with Jeevika to Delhi and when Maanvi and Jeevika are ready to come then they will." Dadaji said. He looked at Jeevika, "Beta I think you shouldn't wait too long for this, you should get ready to go to your maayka's this evening."
Jeevika squealed softly, "Thank you Dadaji! Thank you buaji!"
Dadaji smiled back, "It's okay,"
"No problem beta, after all it's our duty to keep you happy, after all my grandchild and bauji's great grandchild is going to come!" Swamini grinned.
"Okay, Jeevika, Maanvi. You both go get packed and ready for the drive. Viren and Viraat will take you there. And they'll come back after a day or two." Dadaji stated. Jeevika nodded looking excitedly at Maanvi. Maanvi gave her a slight smile before taking slight glances at Viraat, who looked extremely annoyed at her. She tried to give him a slight smile but was only responded with a glare and him trying to ignore her.
Viraat got up suddenly, "I'll just go and get everything sorted." He said sharply, and leaving before anyone responded. Everyone except Maanvi was oblivious to Viraat's expression and she was getting very hesitant about the way he was behaving.
A while later, Maanvi came into Viraat's room where he was packing some clothes into his bag, seeing Maanvi coming towards him, he decided to take no notice.
"Are you okay?" Maanvi asked softly. He ignored her and carried out folded his clothes into his bag.
Getting annoyed at him ignoring her, she held his hand to stop him. She pulled him towards her and looked into his eyes.
"Why are you acting like this? Did I do something?" She said, but Viraat shook her hands off his and adjusted his bag. Maanvi sighed, before coming up with an idea. She walked away from him, his back towards her. Suddenly, she let out a cry. "OW!" In a flash, Viraat turned towards her and ran.
"Are you okay? Did you hurt?" He checked over her, making sure she was not bleeding or anything.
Maanvi shook off her act and stood up straight. She turned towards him, making sure his eyes were looking at hers. "So, you won't talk to me but you'll run when I'm hurt?"
He looked at her sheepishly realising that she had been acting, he turned away before being stopped by Maanvi. She pushed him into a corner and tiptoed to his height. She leant into his ears and whispered softly, "Won't you tell me why you're upset?" She gave him a sweet look that made his heart melt and soon enough he couldn't stay angry at her.
"That's not fair! Using my thing?" He tutted before pulling a slight smile. He pushed Maanvi away from him which led to her rolling her eyes and pulling him towards her again.
"So? Tell me."
He sighed before finding himself kneeling down and sitting on the floor, Maanvi copied him. He faced her, "Did you really think you could leave me? Was that it? You would be gone and that's it?" He said with a slight anger.
"I'm sorry, I didn't realise. You have been such a good help to me, but this is what I have to do alone. I can't keep relying on you for long."
Viraat faced down on to the floor, "So that's all what I am to you?" He looked into her eyes, "I help you. You leave. And then we forget we ever met? Is that it?"
Maanvi couldn't help but feel guilty, she didn't want to use Viraat, not like this. "I'm sorry." She whispered. She looked away from him, "And anyways, I am very lucky to meet you lot. But at the end of the day, our paths will never meet again after this."
Getting more angry, he faced her pulling her arms, "Never meet again? Are you for real? How can you say this?"
Maanvi was confused, "Why are you getting so annoyed? This happens, people meet and go. It's life!"
"It makes a difference to me!" He said shouting.
"Why?" Maanvi replied in slight anger, and slight annoyance. It was good for them that the door was closed, otherwise the family members would have been confused about what was going on.
"It just does!" He replied.
"What kind of an answer is that? Why are you acting like this?"
"Because I –" Viraat stopped in his speech and looked at Maanvi. "Because I…"
