Writers, Lets Have A Talk!

Alright writers, the shit has really hit the fan and his generously spraying now. I am usually very patient as a viewer and I always give you all the benefit of doubt, firmly believing that this is your story, and no one can tell it better than you all. But now I have seriously started to doubt that assumption. What the hell are you all sniffing? Lets look at the problems, shall we?

• You may call me a whiny, complaining "basher" but I can't help but feel like hurling something at my screen when I see less than 2 minutes of Arnav-Khushi during their supposed remarriage track. The last time I checked, this whole shenanigan was about Arnav and Khushi renewing their vows, not AnJhali and Shyam renewing theirs. Then why on earth do didi and jee-jaa-jee continuous get more screen time than the lead pair? Are you all delusional? Do you really think AnJhali and Shyam's saccharine sweet coochie cooing is what the viewers want to see? Do you really think all of us here are dying to see Shyamu twitching all over the place, and AnJhali moping around, clutching her tummy 24/7, as if the pillow stuffed under her sari will fall off any moment?😕 I know a show cannot depend on the lead actors all the time, but this is not the time to take the spotlight away from Arnav and Khushi, viewers have waited patiently for this wedding for over a year now. So dear creatives, learn the grasp the pulse of your audience before its too late.

• If its your aim to garner sympathy for AnJhali then let me tell you, its not working. Each time I see her, I want her to vanish off the face of this earth. I know I should be feeling sorry for her since her hubby is a lying perverted scumbag, and she has a kid on the way, but all I feel for her is deep revulsion. I don't see a helpless woman, I see a masterclass manipulator who is going behind her brother's back to indulge a man who was blamed for kidnapping and trying to kill her brother. Each of her actions stink of selfishness. She is extremely self centered, and wants the world to revolve around herself. She throws a fit if her brother doesn't give her an account of every minute of his life, she thinks he is morally obligated to ask her for permission even before touching his wife, while she has the free license to attend regular booty calls with Shyam, and then she goes one step ahead and starts whining about how Shyam should come back to stay at her brother's house, never mind the fact that her husband might just have an unhealthy obsession with said brother's wife. Fine, she trusts her husband, fair enough, then why don't you show her having even a slight amount of self respect, some dignity, prompting her to walk out of her brother's house, to live with her husband? And for the love of God, could you stop writing scenes where everyone treats her as if she is a porcelain doll? She is pregnant for heaven's sake, its not a disease, she is not dying!

• Now, lets talk about the supposed bad ass in the house, Shyam Manohar Jha. Your precious villain. We are all supposed to be scared of him right? Hate the very sight of him? Sadly, that is not the case. Personally, I feel like laughing over his stupidity half the time. He has gone ahead and scattered glass shards all over the carpet. Lovely. And exactly what will that accomplish? At most someone will get a booboo on their feet. Big deal. And stop with the science experiments already, the whole wire hullabaloo. This man is supposed to be an obsessive psycho, sadly, he looks nothing but a brainless wonder to me.

• Shyam is stupid. Fine, but must you turn your hero, ASR, business tycoon extraordinaire, into a dumb caricature too? Either smarten Shyamu up, or show Arnav catching up with his idiocy already. Arnav saw billing of camera equipments, and yet, he doesn't look further into it. Shyamu prances all around him, and he still doesn't catch a glimpse of him, its as if Shyamu knows how to cast a confundus charm around him. Is that the zabardast twist? Shyamu is a wizard? Tells tells.😛

• Dadi-Garima sequences are a snooze fest. The hand and the constipated face respectively, bore me to death. No kidding. Either get the truth out already or stop showing these stupid hide and seek games. Enough is enough.

• Lastly, stop with the step motherly treatment of your lead heroine! AnJhali gets to lounge on a decorated stage and Khushi is left all alone during her own mehendi, the only person paying her any attention was Arnav. Why? The stage was already there right? Would it have been that much of an effort to get Khushi to sit on the stage? Its her mehendi and she looks like the bridesmaid compared to AnJhali, who if you all remember, is not the bride! Throughout the whole episode, Khushi only got to open her mouth during the last 1 and a half minute. Either issue a public statement saying DB is the new lead, or stop with the partiality already!

Pheww, there, I am all ranted out. For what is worth, the last 1.5 minutes of the episode was very lovely. But you must know these trinkets won't cut the bill anymore, stop with the torture already! The TRPs are telling the story, are they not? Start promoting the wedding, and stop injecting too much tension into every darn sequence. Weddings are supposed to be happy times, not sad and dreary ones, sheesh!

What a superb episode. I feel like watching the episode again and again. SaRun everywhere, in each and every frame. 22 minutes of bliss. (If you are thinking this comment is for today's episode then no it is not. This comment is for Epi 1 to 130-ish)

They should be asking where is Anjali's mother-in-law. Didn't she attend her Bahu's Goad Bharaayi?


To be honest, I didn't enjoy the last 1.5 minutes because I was so disinterested throughout the epi.


Shyam was looking at Khushi today? Hai na? Disgusting!

I do not understand the PH's strategy if even that they have one. I am miserable over the crap that is being dished out these days. Understand the need for the parallel tracks to be interwoven but have the CV's forgotten that the audience has been waiting for the Arnav-Khushi romance for more than an year. Is it too much to ask for the leads to get decent screen time during their much awaited wedding track. Why go for this track if the CV's never intended to do justice to it.

Coming to An-Jhalli. The longer rant would get my blood boiling so will just say the thoughts that came to my mind during the Shyamu as dhol-wala scene when Jahlli smiles seeing him --
Does any self-respecting WIFE tolerate that her husband dress as an entertainer in her brother's house who BTW happens to hate the said hubby's guts and then meets her on the sly? Is this love and respect for a man she believes is good and has done no wrong ? Why not leave her brother's house if her husband is so right, is my question. The drama lies in all the characters being together -- the CV's in order to show this have actually gone ahead & killed the self-respect of An-Jhalli's character. Wish they had at least shown her considering the prospect.

So what I could understand from this whole experience is this PH loves misery ... and here is where the audience differs in opinion. We accepted the intense hatred with grace *almost*, we refuse to accept the diluted romance *if we can call it so* with the same grace.

As far as the low TRP's are concerned, the only reason for it are the lack-lustre promos. No wonder SP does not ask the PH for promos more often. The PH is just not into publicity especially positive one.

PS -- I have lived this show since last Diwali spending all my waking hours either re-watching Arhi scenes or discussing this show on the forum. I feel saddened that it has come to this and hate to be the one to say it out but looks like there's no going back to those beautiful IPK days where we would wait with bated breath for the next episode.

But I need to rant a bit more before I burst a blood vessel. So here goes.😆

I am sick & tired of the unkempt look of Arnav. Whose wedding is it? Hari Prakash's?

Where is Mamaji? His house is burning. Anjali will give birth at any moment or so it appears. Arnav is getting married. Dadi the moral police is reigning over RM. Where the hell are you?

Where is Laxmi?

What exactly is going through Anjali's head? Instead of showing her hugging her pillow and talking to it, can we have her talk to us? Or to a PSYCHIATRIST? How can both Arnav and Shyam be right? How can she be so loving towards Khushi, the other woman in her measly tale? How can she smile at Payal & NK who stood by Khushi against her husband? Why has she never asked her bro for an explanation? Why has she never enquired about the kidnapping?

The most prominent features of Shyam's face are his eyes and his nose. How can he wear a hat+mush and beard+band around his head and escape the notice of the family, guards, hell, even his wife?

What is the attitude of Mami towards Arnav's marriage to Khushi? She was grimacing during the roka & happy during mehendi! Tells, tells!

I thought that the Garima-Dadi nuisance would end this week. Looks like the torture has been extended for the coming month! Garimaji! You maintained a wooden face admirably for one bloody year. Great job! Now, are we to be punished with your terrified expression for the whole of this year? What have we done to deserve this?

The last two weeks or more, the story was progressing at a speed that could rival a superfast train. Now it is at the pace of a bullock cart? Kya hua?

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? Where is the pyaar? Oh, you meant the longing looks exchanged by Anjhali & Shyamu! It is time for self-delivered tamacha on the part of the viewers.

Khushi is dressed in one of the most revealing outfits she has ever worn in this serial. For once, it does not look like a reject from some textile shop. How come Arnav does not react to his LOVE in this backless red choli & yellow skirt and an almost non-existent dupatta? NK grabs Lays with more eagerness than Arnav approaches Khushi. Let me be frank. Arnav & Khushi appear like a long married couple here, who, at the end of 30 years, are wondering what they are doing with each other.

Sorry. Got carried away. And about Shyamu's 'brilliant' plans, don't get me started!

So when it comes to ranting I am on first page to RES! Sad is the case of IPk I tell you for a viewer who has stuck around from the first episode! But it is what it is and I shall rant and rant away...BRB!

Tanu I couldnt help but Nod at all the bullet points up there.

I have been enduring and to be honest waiting in all eagerness for the shit to hit the fan! A show does not work on only romance and I very well understand that as a viewer. It has to be a mix of everything to be a delicacy! (Its lunch time in my part of the world and I am hungy and IPK has left a very bad taste today). IPK is like this un manned train right now. We all know it going to crash into a big wall soon, but it is so directionless.

Here are my 2 cents on the all possible wrong directions it is taking:

Anjhalli Shyam Jha!
Yes from the very beginning we knew the story is going to revolve around her. Yes, we knew she is the sutradhar here. But no where did I forsee that they will be hurling a character who would be aimless and a moocher of emotions. A year ago I was appreciative of the bond Arnav and Anjhalli had. I use to be awe of the elder sis and 10 mins of her were easy on the eyes and to the ears. But now her character has been butchered so pathetically that 2 mins of her becomes difficult to endure. The Cvs have tried to retain DB promising her a meatier role..they tried it too after ASR's return..do they not look at any reviews on the past tracks? Do they not realize how TRP's fell deeply then? Like you mentioned . I know I should be feeling sorry for her since her hubby is a lying perverted scumbag, and she has a kid on the way, but all I feel for her is deep revulsion. Initially I gave it a chance, thinking ok, the lady is complex...but she is complex and dumb! Very futile!


Shyam Jha: The Anjhali and Shyam jodi should be called "The dumb and the dumber".
CVs I dont want to see him for the 18 mins of the episode time. His plots arent that devious to take up that much time on the sceen! Show him doing his dirty work and move on! For the love of Daiyya Ho! dont make him and his wife have the divine staring that is so sacred for Arnav and Khushi. The last thing you know, they will play Rabba vey on Anjhalli and Shyam..and if they do..I am personally going to rock their FB page with a dhamaka!



Garima/Dadi: Can they already stop with to tell or not to tell, to come or not to come, to puke or not to puke, to blink or not to blink, to change the expression or not change the expression, to mae a fist or release it, to raise the hand or not raise the hand, to lie or not to lie, to be more retard or to be sane. Garima can either speak up or got to a health camp where it is not raining! Can dadi shut up and think about Arnav for once and NOT do Anjhali Anjhalli/ Daamad Daamad jaap.
So I dont get why the ladies would ask for Shyamji on godh bharai..men arent supposed to be there! Didnt nani, dadi etc think about this before keeping the godh bharai...? Didnt Anjhalli herself think what would happen if someone asks for her parmeshwar? Naah she probably just wanted to be a mannequin with all the glitter!


Arnav/Khushi: Where are they? The lead of the show..who for the majority of the air time were loathing...then telepathing ..are getting a chance to romancing..! But NO the Cvs had to ruin this too! Yes is a good thing you remember and makes it all romantic..but is that all you are going to do! And why does only Arnav remember all this..why not Khushi.? So what are we leading too...there will be no shaadi..but techincally they are married..Rabba Vey! My brain is whacked when I see the way their romance is being butchered! Oh for the love of rabba veys Arnav and Khushi..who won each and every award last year for best jodi are getting married...give them space, give them dialogues, give them the hawa ka jhonka, give them rabba veys...and please give them some beautiful clothes..but some style! Stop making Anjhalli look like bride always and Khushi a mere bridesmaid! Are they telling viewers oh this has been done before, here is the Flash back.."dekhna hai toh dekho?" How sad was it to see Khushi sitting on a lone mattress with only the mehendiwali...like itna bhi kyun..just make her put mehendi on her own na! I swear if this 2.5 mins of LG to A stare is all we get in the name of mehndi na..the show is doomed!


Last but not the least a message to CVs in Dilbert's own way: A pat on the back is only a few inches from a kick in the butt.

Hi, this is my first comment ever on your post. So first of all, thank u for all the funny and wonder ful posts that u have written (atleast the ones I have read 😛). Second, sorry for occupying space on ur post, when never before I took the time/effort to comment . But kya karein, aaj ka episode ithna ghatiya tha aur aapki ye post kya dekh liya meina, tho mujhse raha nahi gaya 😉. Seriously, aapne tho hamare mookh ki baath cheenli. I absolutely agree with every word of yours. Since the Rokha episode I have been restraining myself from spewing venom in IF, lest I contaminate others. But aaj tho, cv's ne hadh kardhi.
