I don't think Ovi is selfish at all. Neither is she psycho. I think she is a normal girl who was head over heels in love with her childhood friend. He did not love her back in the same way, and yet proceeded to get engaged to her raising her hopes up. When the truth came out about Arvi, she should've done the decent thing and showed some compassion towards Ovi in order to help her move on. But instead, his head is stuck so far up Purvi's behind, he has no time for anyone else. The reason Ovi is behaving the way she is because she sees her own biological mother supporting this Arvi relationship after she made tall claims that he was not good for either sister. The way he betrayed one of her daughters, she should've slapped him to hell and back and kicked him to the curb. But she showed favoritism, and even though ARchana did not raise Ovi and Ovi hates her, deep down Ovi would still expect some form of support from her own mother for heaven's sake. Not to mention, Ovi's hatred towards Archana is completely justified. As far as she knows, this woman abandoned her, never contacted her daughters in 18 yrs all the while raising and orphan child and showering her love on Purvi. If Archana doesn't want her daughters to hate her, all she has to do is something very simple...Tell the Darn Truth! Isn't she always speaking about walking on the path of Truthfulness, blah, blah. So why is she constantly lying to her own kids, why?
I also don't think that Arjun has become a better person because of Purvi's influence. I think he is trying to act the way he thinks Purvi wants him to be. This is not his real personality. His real personality is that of a driven businessman, who was very pre-occupied with work. That was his passion, Work. There is absolutely nothing wrong in being ambitious or rich. That is not a bad trait. Just like there is nothing wrong in being middle class, don't make generalizations about rich and affluent people. There are a lot of rich people in this word, who do a lot of good for others. Being rich in itself doesn't make him a bad person. His attitude towards his workers was justified. He just has high expectations, what is wrong with that? Who is Purvi to come and tell him how to run his business/office. He's not running a charity organization, he's running a business. Purvi acted very hight and mighty by challenging her boss "Arjun". She should've minded her own business and done her own work. She has a tendency to stick her nose where it doesn't belong, always trying to save the world. This is why her character is most annoying and irritating to me. She thinks its her way or the highway. Not everyone in Mumbai has to dance to her tunes. Who is she, she is a nobody living in a chawl who did some studying and got a degree and now she considers herself an expert on how to run DK and Manav's business. A business that they have been running successfully for decades, which Arjun has learned the trade from his dad and Manav. She is one of those very snotty girls who thinks they are right about everything. There is one in every bunch.
Personally, I would love to see Ovi give Arjun the boot. He doesn't deserve her, he only deserves the likes of Purvi who will make his life miserable the way Archana made Manav's life miserable. Clearly, he wants to be abused at the hands of Archana and Purvi, that is why he is accepting lame challenges to prove his worth. Ovi will be just fine. Manav just needs to move back to Canada with his family sans Archana and their lives will be back to normal. Savita is more than enough of a mother figure for those 2 girls, she has done a wonderful job with them. She has been so loving and caring towards them. I see the pure love in her eyes for those 2 girls. I never see that in Archana's eyes, I only see that love in Archana reserved for her dear Purvi.
