Another fun-filled episode today, well most of it. I liked the beginning scene where Ss tries to tell off Pratigya but she turns it on him as usual. The calm, self-assured way Pratigya responds to him catches him off-guard and has him playing the FIL angle which is funny because last week he played the dad angle with his "other" son. Pratigya was so right when she told him not to use words like respect and honor because of course he doesn't know the meaning. They are just propaganda to him. She pushed his buttons in a way noone else can. And she did it without messing up a hair. She didn't give him the satisfaction of screaming in his face, just told him off as if he was just a kutta.
Inside the courtroom, the witnesses gave a lot of testimony, but none of the questioning was done by other lawyers only Pratigya and Abhimanyu. Pratigya made his case fall apart, one point by one which was excellent. And she never got overexcited or emotional, just calmly presented her side to the judge. Here is where she played the lawyer, and then the sister. She took down Sarju's brother, then she put up the rickshaw driver and the restaurant owner, and finally took down Pankaj Singh himself. I couldn't help but admire Mohit as the sexy lawyer because well, he is hot up there. His hair looked good, even though he was losing the case. (One must look for the positives in any situation.) The way Krishna burst in with Pankaj Singh and told Abhimanyu angrily, that he remembers was one of the best moments of the show. Prats smiles as she does when he comes to the rescue and what happened then was all her. The slow manner in which Abhimanyu started getting nervous and then tried to ruin Prats' argument was so hilarious as was the way SS' expression changed when he knew he was a lost cause. At the end, Abhimanyu realized his father loves him very little, and he loves power a whole lot more. Loved the way Pratigya sweetly says to her sister, "Shall we go home?" Because it means more than just want to go now. It means, yes, I promised you I would stay there and fight to clear your name and now I have kept my word. Nice touch by the cvs. Pratigya won yet another case, which was no surprise but the highlight for me was the way Baba walked in and surprised everyone with the key witness. Prats and Krishna defeated someone who is technically his half-brother, but the man sadly had no reverence for that bond. Or maybe he felt he couldn't refuse his father.
Part of me feels bad that a man as intelligent and somewhat virtuous as Abhimanyu could lose not only the case, but his license to practice in India. It means he can't help his people, and everything he did has been undone by his one act of foolishness. But another part of me knows that he knew what he was doing was wrong by his own private admission to Bauji, he had to have known that his career hangs in the balance in Pankaj Singh ever makes it back to the city. And of course that regret is overshadowed by what I felt for the Saxenas. Even though they should have had Krishna stand guard there, they didn't deserve to suffer to such an extent as they did. It will be a long time before any of them could forget what happened in their house.
What happened outside was like the comic relief to the entire track. Shakti has the band all ready, and his head is even moving to the beat when his father walks out of the courtroom. LOL. He is yet another pawn in SS' game but he doesn't care. SS goes out to his "reception committee" and it was what he deserved. The silently ticked off expressions of his other two sons spoke volumes. Abhimanyu didn't even bother speaking to his father, knowing his real motives behind the case. Krishna's eyes opened to the truth of his father's misdeeds another victory for Pratigya, who warned SS in the first half of the episode. The way people were putting him down and the band playing in the beginning, both made a mockery of a man whose own pride rules him. SS didn't nearly get what he deserved. Yes, he got humiliated and he lost the election, but it's nothing close to what the Saxenas went through. The people insulting him didnt physically even touch him out of fear. They just shot looks of bitterness his way. Not only that, Komal is one of his own children and he was willing to let people denigrate the house she and his granddaughter live in for the sake of his ambition. Even Chinky was a victim of this, even though they didn't show her. I realize his character committed some grave misdeeds, but Abhimanyu did feel guilty towards the end and I think he learned his lesson. I think Mohit, Arhaan, and Pooja did an outstanding job through this track. đđ
The precap where they show a dripping wet Krishna was my reward for a long dragged out track. The guy looks sizzling, even when his hair and shirt are wet.
Star of the episode: Krishna Singh Thakur, Pratigya Singh Thakur
