this is not to criticise anyone, this is a discussion to talk about something that matters to many viewers. please see it in that light.

this has been one of the finest indian television serials with wonderful writing, contemporary thought that many identify with and fabulous acting, which is why such a lot of us are so involved and take time to talk about it.

the best told stories survive when creators hold steady and believe in their vision. i am sure the creatives have had to deal with a lot of interference and pressure from channel and trp issues, etc, it has been difficult for them. yet i wonder if it's correct to message that a marriage that took place in front of god and fire with mantra, mangalsutra, sindoor is invalid. and if a recommitmet was necessary for the story, was this the best way to do it. my conscience finds it difficult to negate the marriage we witnessed on the 17th of february.

thanks for dropping by. value your participation.

In my view also the marriage was very much Valid. You need to witnesses only today that the couple are married for them to be considered married. Also if you watch the july 19th episode, Arnav tells that you are my legally wedded wife. It means that they had the legal papers drawn out. So I think they are married in all purposes except that they wanted a grand wedding and Arnav wants to fulfill her wish.

I agree with most of your points. ArHi have been married for nearly 6 months now, no doubt about it. Khushi knew all the traditions, all the rites of marriage in Hindu culture, and based on that knowledge she agreed that what happened on the night of the 17th was a marriage.

But, I'm still for the remarriage track. Yes, the way that it was brought on, insulting Khushi's character and considering the marriage invalid was not okay. However, we've seen many times before that the elders on this show are prone to hypocrisy, and honestly, being downright illogical. This whole "you 2 aren't really married" thing is just another example of that.

But I don't think the CVs really put much thought into how the remarriage topic was to be brought up. They just had to bring it up somehow. Yeah, they're doing it for TRPs, but I think it's needed for Khushi's sake as well. We all know that ArHi have always been different and whatnot, but at the end of the day Khushi is still a fun-loving girl who has seen countless dreams in regards to her wedding. Yes she loves Arnav, yes she would have been perfectly happy without a remarriage...but don't you think she deserves to have her dreams fulfilled? Everyone is always going on about how Khushi shouldn't be so selfless and should think about herself for once - isn't that what she's doing? She always wanted a big fat Indian wedding...and now she's getting it. So I say good for her 😆

hi drameybaaz,
ha ha, like that last line of yours. won't get serious now, but if there's one sp leading lady who could have brought about nayi soch, it was khushi. she is the only one with the depth and sanka to have a chat with her dm and tell arnavji, you love me more than anything else and that's what matters, that's beyond any dream; and he would have done a ceremony for her which is better than any she could have ever imagined that respected their married status yet brought blessings of elders, viws exchanged, and more to her. mmm what chance for romance and for khushi getting more than her dreams fulfilled. but no prob, let's go remarriage, khushi ke liye.

love your name 😊

wow finally someone who sees the reality of the whole situation as i do...finaly someone whom i can 100% agree with...
Wow Di...that was truly n amazing post...n i too m not entirely thrilled with the whole over the top wedding track...it honeslty feels forced and always in the shadow of a bad omen n the dreaded past.
This wedding is basically a TRP garner yet i have a feeling due to the poor execution it shant do that...rather it may just leave a sour taste in viewer mouth.
They are not just changed a very well etched out character but also making it feel unlike IPK and Ar-Hi.
I m not going to go much into details as u have clearly explained everything so perfectly,...but like urself, i too m not in the favor of the fanfare.
They should honestly shed true light on the main focus point n the reality of their situation. Their marriage has been unique and has to be handles in the same manner.
One thing i'd like to point out is...the opening post ... BRAVO Di...!!!!
I've been asking myself that same bloody question day in day out...honestly this show used to be for the ppl who liked to thing...it gave ur everything n good provoking thought. It didnt every perfectly etched out track that didnt leave anything to ur thought but it always left viewrs thinking and wanting more...n now,...there is absolutely no closing of anything...no connecting of many many mis matched dots...
Its getting to a point where there is pretty much no different and i m loosing my expectancy from this show...
I tend to watch it just like i would any other normal show...it gives me nothing anymore to defend it with my friends who choose other shows over this...(id not like to name any show here)
Literally handing by the thread her i tell ya...
Got they better focuz on the essence of the show rather than the TRP for the show. Once the essense is there TRP will go up by themselves.
ThnQ Di. I found the post...n thnQ for the initial PM

avni,
thanks so much for reading and your kind words.

and i am so happy to hear that you're as rattled as i am, 😃 mean huh? really, that was a unique wedding. what happened to acknowledging that and taking it from there? do beautiful private stylish ipk ceremony to seek blessings of elders, etc., who's stopping you. but get married again while you're calling yourself kkg...sr, wearing mangalsutra and sindoor. what is this?

red and bold, i agree but more importantly we both know how sad we feel that we have to actually say such things or think them vis a vis iss pyaar ko kya naam doon.

also those thousand loose threads, no story completed or fully understood. then awful getting awfuller production values. tacky beyond belief. never noticed that till the story went off on a tangent and the characters started to feel unfamiliar.

oh enough ranting.

frankly, it is sad that we are not dying to see the next episode any more.

nor is a whole bunch of new viewers.

still hoping ipk will come back.

how, via what means, through whom, no idea. am leaving it to dm. 😆 😭

But honestly lately afer watching the episodes, instead of wanting to see the next one, i feel mad and angry n then I cry...honestly I cry...seeing the fate of the show...n the reactions of all the ppl around me who used to enjoy watchin it at one point and were as crazy about it as myself.
