KR OS : Life always has a bright side - Last Part

"Mr. Reyaansh Singhannia , this is Kria ' do you have any
idea what time it is ?" she literally screamed at him .. She was so angry ..
she didn't care what he thought and what he said ..

"Its 8 pm.. I am just reaching " he politely said ..

"I have been waiting for you .. for the past 2 hours .. why
is your damn cell switched off ' " she again said sternly '

"I am really sorry ,Kria I was in a meeting .." his voice soft .. he was really sorry ' but she was too angry
to notice that..

"Sorry .. wow .. that's the only thing you know to say ..
what kind of a father are you .. how careless .. how irresponsible .. I and Anjali
are waiting for you .. she slept off now .. "

"Kria .. " 'but she didn't let him complete ..

"If you don't reach here in 10 mins then .. "

He accelerated .. "I will be there .. I will be there .. "
he almost stammered ..

She cut the call '

This guy really needs a piece of my mind and which am sure I
will give him .. Let him just come here .. Kria was fuming with anger .. she
had put Anjali on the bed and was pacing the floor '

What kind of a father is he .. Anjali had been coming to her
Day Care now for last 5days .. He never came once to leave her or pick her up
.. Anjali always came with her friend's mom
.. and today since Anjali's friend was a bit unwell her mom picked her
up early and went ..

Kria had no other option but to wait with Anjali till her
Dad came to pick her up .. These rich single Dads .. they just know how to take
people for granted ..

She had no problems with Anjali .. she was the sweetest kid
she had met .. At 4 ,she was much brighter and mature than other kids ..
sometimes Kria wondered was it because she doesn't have a mom .. Kria had felt
very attached to the kid from day one .. One thing which Anjali never stopped talking
was about her Dad .. Kria wondered how come the kid is so much in awe of her
Dad who hardly had any time for her ..

It was 2 hours past her closing time .. Her Day care closed
at 6 .. She had told all the parents to pick their kids around that time
.. Kria was very particular about
timings and discipline .. This was the only quality which she felt she had
picked from her parents .. She didn't have anybody in her life .. Her parents
expired 5 years back .. She was the only child of theirs .. no siblings ..
maybe that was the main reason that she loved kids .. she just forgot herself
when she was with them ..

So when she finished her education .. she took a small place
in her neighbourhood on lease and started her Day Care and a small kids library
.. She became a kid when she was with the little ones ..

She came out of her thoughts when she heard a car pull
in .. She went and opened the main door
.. and she saw him parking the car and running towards her '

For a moment she just forgot her anger .. her irritation ..
because she was awestruck by him .. if there was a definition for handsome in
the dictionary then .. that definition was written only after seeing this guy
.. a perfect lean body .. with the stubble which must have appeared during the
day .. eyes twinkling with joy and a smile which would make any girl's heart do
somersault ..

But, isn't he too young to be a father of a 4 year old ?

"Hi .. .. sorry again " he came to her and was panting .. but his boyish grin was enough to make up
for all the time Kria had been waiting here ..

She came out of her trance .. unknowingly she smiled .. but
then realised that she was angry with him .. so frowned ..

"What kind of a father are you ' Mr. Reyaansh "

Before she could go on further .. he jumped in .. "Call me Rey .. "

Huff .. "Ok .. Rey .. Anjali is coming to my Day Care for
the last 5 days .. you didn't think it to be important to meet me or see this
place .. "

"Oh so you are angry because I didn't come to meet you ..
sorry .. Now is not a bad time either .. isn't it ?" he said mischievously ..

WTH .. she forgot for a moment what she wanted to tell him
.. is this guy flirting with her '

She came back to her senses .."I meant you should know where
your daughter is for the whole day .. "

"Yes .. I knew about you and this place .. I know it's the
best for her .. so I sent her here "

"Thanks .. but .. I must tell you that you should take out
time for her "

"Yes .. I know " .. he was serious ..

"You know .. meetings .. business .. money can wait .. but
she will grow up so soon that you won't even know it .. she doesn't have a mom .. so you are
everything to her .. so you must be there for her whenever she needs you .. I
just wanted to say this " Kria saw that he was thoughtful .. she thought she
had made her point .. that's all she could do .. rest is upto him how he wants
to deal with the situation ..

"I know she is in safe and the best hands .. Thanks a lot
for everything " he smiled .. this time .. it was with gratitude .. Kria felt
the warmth with which he looked at her ..

Yes .. there was genuineness in his voice ..she felt good ..

She went in and got Anjali .. Rey picked her up and kept her in the back
car seat ..

Kria had locked the door and was moving towards the gate ..

"Did you have dinner ?"

She was too stunned to say anything ..

"I mean .. its anyway dinner time .. we could have dinner at
some place and I could drop you home ..Anjali is anyway sleeping " he winked ..

God !! .. this guy definitely has the nerves .. how casually
he is asking .. she could almost imagine her with him in a small diner ..
having a chit chat .. she snapped out of her thoughts .. what's wrong with me
..

"No .. I am going home .. " she spoke sternly ..

"Hey .. please .. see its late .. maybe not dinner .. I
could drop you home "

"I said No .. " she was firm .. she was waiting for him to
take the car out of the parking lot .. so she could close the gate and then
walk to her house .. alone ..

"Daddy .. you have come .. " Anjali woke up .. and asked Rey
sleepily '

"Yes sweety .. I am here .. I missed you so much .. baby ..
"

"Me too .. Daddy .. did you meet Kria Miss .. "

"Yes .. she is the best .. as you told me "

"Ya .. Daddy .. she is so beautiful na .. "

Kria heard this Daughter 'Father talk .. and blushed .. what
all does this little devil tell her Dad about her .. she couldn't imagine ..

Rey looked at Kria .. he saw her blushing .. he had a sweet
smile on his lips ..

"And Kria Miss .. didn't I tell you that my Dad is the
handsomest person in the world " she said proudly ..

Kria had to smile .. "Honey .. its late now .. "

"No .. I want to have ice-cream " she looked pleadingly at
Rey ..

Rey of course couldn't deny any wish of his daughter ..

"Sweety .. but your
Kria Miss doesn't want to come with us "
he said in a childish manner exactly how Anjali said ..

"Kria Miss .. please come .. "

"No Anjali its too late for ice-cream .. you might catch a
cold .. do you want to be in bed due to that
?" she was strict as a teacher ..

"No .. but I want to eat " ..Anjali had tears in her eyes ..

"Ok .. promise me one thing .. you will eat just a small
scoop of ice-cream and then I will give you hot milk .. you need to drink that
and then sleep "

"No .. I hate milk "

"Fine .. no ice-cream for you then "

Anjali was looking at Rey .. he shrugged his shoulders
telling her that he is helpless .. Rey
thought better not to come in between the two .. because he knew he would melt
at any moment and give in to his daughter's demands .. he admired how Kria was
handling her ..

After a long time , Anjali said .. "Ok .. I will drink it "

"Ok .. why don't we
do one thing .. we could go to my place and then you can your ice-cream .. will
that be fine Anjali ?" she didn't want the little girl to be anywhere in this
cold winter night .. but just at home ..

"Yeah Yeah " she clapped her hands ..

Rey smiled .. he knew why Kria said that .. he was really
grateful to her ..

When they were driving to her house Kria looked at Rey and said "You shouldn't give in to each
and every demand of hers .. she will be spoilt that way " .. she said sternly ..

Rey nodded " I can't help it "

"She will grow up into a very sensible girl if you listen to
her and give her your time .. "

"I am always pressed for time .. " he was looking straight
ahead .. but he was thoughtful ..

There was silence in the car .. suddenly ..

"Daddy .. did you wish Papa on his B'day from my side ?"
Anjali asked ..

"Yes Sweety .. from me and you .. from both of us " he
looked at her from the mirror ..

Kria was not sure who was Papa .. so she asked "Anjali , he is your Papa rite ?" she asked pointing to
Rey ..

"No .. he is my Daddy .. my Papa Mumma are not with us ..
they are far off in the sky "

These words from the little girl's mouth hit Kria like a
rock .. she was so stunned .. she turned back to look at Anjali .. the girl was
looking out of the window ..

Kria then looked at Rey .. a tear had escaped his eye ..
Kria didn't know what to do .. what to say ..

"She is my elder brother's daughter .. they expired last
year .. I have adopted her " Rey spoke solemnly .. "Today is my brother's
B'day"

Kria was so overwhelmed with emotions .. she almost choked
.. she wanted to say something .. but just couldn't ..

She looked out of the window to hide her tears '

Kria's home was a small but it was very comfortable .. Rey
really liked it .. she had an open kitchen facing the living area .. there was
a couch .. 2 chairs .. a center table .. a bean bag .. a tv .. a shelf with
books and dvds ..most of the books were of children and the dvds too of
children's movies .. and one wall full of her family photos .. he saw her
childhood photo with her mom dad .. her teen photo with her friends .. she
was exactly how she was now .. she
seemed such an affectionate and loving person .. and there was so much
innocence in that smile .. he smiled looking at her photos '

Kria had already given a bowl of ice-cream to Anjali with a
small piece of chocolate brownie .. She put a movie for her .. and got busy in
the kitchen to fix a quick dinner .. She was still a bit fidgety .. she
couldn't overcome what she had heard ..

Rey came to the kitchen counter ..

"Need any help ? Well
I don't know to cook .. but I can try"
..

Kria immediately gave him the vegetables she was cutting ..
"I was preparing a quick salad .. I had already boiled some noodles for my
dinner .. so will make that .. is that fine ?" she asked without looking at him
..

"Yes .. its great .. thanks a ton for all this " he smiled
..

"I am sorry , Rey .. for whatever I said to you earlier "
she spoke slowly..

"Hey .. its perfectly alright .. anyone would have done that
"

"No .. I mean .. I didn't know about Anjali .."

He just waved his hand .. "I liked it when someone gave me a
good shouting ... hadn't heard it for a
long time now " .. he winked ..

He sure knew how to lighten the mood .. Kria had to smile at
him ..

"This might be a bit personal .. but why don't you marry
..?" she asked ..

He looked at her .. for a moment ..she froze .. he was
looking deeply in her eyes .. as if searching for something .. then he looked
away ..

"Well my fiance
broke up with me because she didn't want to take Anjali's responsibility .. now
I am not sure if I want to take that major step again .. Anjali is my priority
.. "

He was lost in his own thoughts .. he continued speaking .. "
I try my level best to be with her .. everyday night she waits for me because
she would eat only from my hands .. putting her to sleep .. trying tell her
some bed times stories 'pillow fights with her .. making her hair .. getting
hot chocolate spilled on my shirts .. this is all new to me .. I know sometimes
I get very tired with all this .. but
seeing her running towards me and jumping in my arms .. calling me Daddy ..
there can't be any other pleasure in life .. I am trying to be a good Dad to
her .. whom I hope she would look upto "

Kria understood his feelings .. his apprehensions .. she put
her hand over his and gave a little squeeze .. she felt admiration for this man
.. "Life always has a bright side .. she is very lucky to have you .. "

Rey looked at Kria again .. he kept his hand over hers .. he
felt she understood what he was trying to say .. he felt so good to speak out
to someone .. it had been so long that he had ever opened his heart out ' felt
relaxed ..

They had a quiet dinner and then sat with Anjali .. last
part of her movie was going on .. Kria gave her a glass of milk .. she drank
without any fuss .. Rey smiled looking at how she behaved so obediently with
Kria ..

"Kria Miss .. can I come tomorrow ?"

"Oh sorry honey .. the day care is closed on weekends"

Anjali made a sad face and got up to leave .. Rey was on his knees and whispered
something in her ears .. Anjali's face lit up .. she smiled widely ..

Kria was confused ..
she looked at Rey .. he stood up and faced Kria .. ran his fingers thru his
hair .. gave a boyish grin ..

Kria's heart missed a beat .. what is he upto .. why is he
doing this ..

"Would you like to spend the weekend with us ?"

This was unexpected for Kria .. her eyes widened with
amazement .. but a moment later she bit
her lip .. and blushed .. and smiled ..
