Jyothi and Ash,
😊
I too thought they read your gripe, which is why as i watched the Purvi scene taking out her bangles, i was thinking of you and saying you go Jyothi, they read ur post or your mind 😉...
I have also only watched partial episodes...it was hard enough trying to watch Arjun's dream sequence in the chawl on the TV with my MIL, who wanted to talk at that time and i just wanted to enjoy the song😆...so my big TV watching has been long gone, i just watch it on the small screen, which sometimes does not have the same effect, as we all well understand!!!
I did not watch the Punni scenes at all...gosh how naive can Archana get and what Purvi is taking just after her Aaie, after ALL that Punni did. Besides, Arjun fired Punni, how will it appear now that he will go to her house for dinner? What next, he will be expected to give her job back as she has atoned for her sins by turning over a new leaf 😕- yeah right?

Jyothi, here i am trying to concentrate and ignore the generation gap, still look straight faced (cannot be grinning ear to ear with the awww expression), not a single oohs and aah's at all from me, and it would look extremely rude if i went into the other room with the smaller TV to watch the very same thing😳)...you can only imagine my plight...my hubby was traveling then, and so it was just me and her...and here she went on a tirade against such silly songs...and here all i wanted to do was watch in peace...😆

Abhi,
Just reading what u said about the shirt ka button song and ur MIL, and I wanna 🤣.
Oh, btw. Morning... Happy Friday!!!
Last night I watched back the scene Jyothi sent us, then the mandir scene from April 27th, 2012, then the May 3rd scene when she walked into the engagement hall and Arjun saw her in that red and purple sari and then the scene from the chawl when she bandage his arm.
So... today will pick up where I left off. lol...
The thing about ArVi - We dont always need intensity, for not all situations call for it. BUT... we need better lines, more substance and actual scenes (not just crumbs). Can't they talk about the divorce (Purvi talked to Arjun about it before - when they were in Pune and they went shopping for photo frames) so it will be a catch up convo. Or talk about how she is feeling since the kidnapping or talk about their wedding details like an engaged couple.
Hence, why I said CVs/Writers, need to experience actual convos or just read a good novel.

Ash,

@blue.
They do not need to look so far, they just have to go to Sony and see a few episodes of the very new Love Marriage ya Arranged Marriage. It is like a primer on the subject.

When the boy, Sahil, asks his mother to meet his girlfriend Shivani as he loves her and wants to marry her, he is sent off with a flea in his ear. He is his mother's pet, and so he was quite confident of bringing her round, and had perusaded Shivani to move back from Delhi to Udaipur so as to wrap things up. Now he is stymied. So he buys her a beautiful diamond solitaire, goes to meet her at her old home in Udaipur (where her parents think the marriage is going ahead with his mother's consent) and slips it on her finger. She loves it, but then she looks at his face and immediately understands that something is wrong. She asks hhim 'Did your mother not agree?' When he confirms it with a downcast face, she looks a little lost for a moment, and then asks "Ok, then what is Plan B?' He is astonished that she can be so mature, and asks if she is not going to shout at him or cry. She says that other girls, who have less faith in their love, might do all that, but she has more faith in him than in herself. Then they go off to set up her new wedding planning company.

In an earlier episode, when Shivani is briefly visiting Udaipur from Delhi, Sahil, seeing her face cloud over, realises that she is upset by the memories of a childhood friend with whom she had had a bitter quarrel just before her family had left Udaipur for Delhi, and whom she has not met or been in touch with since. He persuades her to overcome her ego hassles and look up that friend, while he does all her shopping for her in the meantime. before she has to catch her train. He sees her off with a hug, saying 'Shivani, I miss you yaar!.

He is very handsome and lively, while she looks more intelligent than pretty, but they gel very well together. Their conversations are so natural and yet so full of understanding and affection, chummy, and with a comfortable sense of togetherness - it is most refreshing. He discusses with her all his ongoing problems in his campaign to bring his mother round, and she offers her ideas, and so on. In fact, precisely the sort of thing we would like to see in PR at this stage.

Arjun-Purvi are of course quite different, and what we had enjoyed earlier was the high emotional quotient in their scenes. Now, the same scenes are flat and dull, and they are not being utilised properly.

Today's in the car, when she overcomes his strong objections to any idea of visiting Punni's place for dinner, was just the same. Shot from the back with unflattering angles, and Purvi mouthing the same old rubbish as her mother about having to preserve rishtas. Arjun, who was never consulted about the dinner, tries hard to get out of it but agrees to it in the end. He should have asserted himself and refused to go.

That would also have taught Purvi that a fiance or husband cannot be taken for granted just because he is so pliable as to be practically a doormat. If Arjun does not make his voice heard, he soon WILL become a doormat. As for Purvi, for such idiocy, she deserves all that is coming to her.
