After enjoying the glory of winning the 'Nach Baliye' (Star Plus) contest with wife Supriya Pilgaonkar, actor Sachin will be back on TV in a new avatar. Sachin, along with veteran actor Farida Jalal, will judge the talent show for children 'Mera Star Super Star' (Star Plus). The show will be anchored by TV actor Shilpa Saklani.

Sachin explains what made him accept this show, "It's a show for children. I have been a child artiste myself. So it makes me nostalgic watching children perform. I fit in like a glove." He continues, "It's amazing to watch how children right from the age of five express themselves through singing, acting and dancing."

Quiz him about what he would look for in the participants and Sachin says, "I appreciate honesty in performance. What comes from the heart is always beautiful. Preparation is important too." Incidentally, 50 participants have been selected through auditions all over the country.

The multi-talented artiste, Sachin is also directing a Marathi film 'Aamhi Satpute' (based on the Hindi film 'Satte Pe Satta' which he was a part of) and is planning a Hindi thriller. Confirming this, he nevertheless adds, "It's too early to talk about it now." Sachin, who is also interested in writing adds, "I owe my love for the Urdu language to Meena (Kumari) apa. She encouraged me to learn it." He recalls the 'Nach Baliye' experience with fondness and says, "Supriya surpassed me with her enthusiasm. We will be in 'Nach Baliye 2' to wish the new contestants."

Coming back to 'Super Star...', Sachin concludes, "By encouraging children to discover their talents, the show will enable them to enjoy their childhood."

Farida Jalal:

I jumped at the thought of judging this show because I love children and enjoy watching young talent. Their body language, expressions, sense of rhythm and choice of song would be considered. I say bravo to them! It would be heartbreaking to see any child lose.

Shilpa Saklani:

The show will spot raw talent. I am quite at ease with kids. But I will have to prepare myself in accordance to the script and balance it with impromptu lines. The more bindaas and chilled-out the children are, the better it would be for them. And my husband Apoorva (Agnihotri) better watch my show!
