Author's Note: So sorry for not updating sooner! I knew I had saved the chapters that I've written BUT I couldn't remember where I saved it to, and thought that it had gotten deleted. Imagine how frantic I was trying to find the two/three chapters that I've written and then thinking about re-doing it all AGAIN. But I found them (yay!) Wow, Can't believe its been over two months since I've started this FanFic (how time flies). Anyways, hope you enjoy!! And oh do comment (I love long replies, hint hint) :P
Chapter Twenty One: Meeting Jeevika's parents
"You?" Maanvi asked in pure shock at Jeevika's mom. The woman smiled, flashbacks of the night when Maanvi saved her purse from being stolen.
"Maanvi right?" The woman spoke.
Maanvi nodded, "Aunty.." She went towards the woman and gave her a hug.
Jeevika looked on confused, "When did you meet my mom?"
"Actually, that night when we went to the restaurant and you and jiju went home. And Viraat went to get his car when…"
"When Maanvi saved my purse from getting stolen," She interrupted proudly. Maanvi smiled.
"Oh ho, so this is that aunty." Viraat interjected.
Jeevika smiled and went near Maanvi and hugged her, "Thank you. Even though you didn't know my mother, you still helped her. You're a true sister."
"So this must mean your mother is my mother, right?" Maanvi said grinning.
"Why not? From now on I have two daughters." The mother came in between the girls and hugged them.
"Look at this, mother and daughter. Completely forgetting the dad!" Jeevika's father joked.
"Papa!" Jeevika said and hugged him.
"Have to agree, Maanvi is a true person, the moment Padmini came home and told me about a girl, I knew that she was no less than Jeevika." He went near Maanvi and mouthed a 'thank you'.
The Vadhera family looked on smiling, happy that the entry of Maanvi raised the family's reputation and dignity and honour and that to Jeevika's sasural.
"We're happy that both of you took the time to come here. Please enjoy the party." Swamini said as she led them into the hall. Everyone but Maanvi and Viraat followed.
"So, Mrs Maanvi Sherni Vadhera. How brave you are."
Maanvi smiled sarcastically, "Mr Viraat Idiot Vadhera. How silly you are."
"Is this the way you talk to your husband?"
"It's the way I'll talk to my husband."
"So, you finally accept me as your husband?"
"Can pigs fly? No right. Then why do you keep wanting to be my husband?" Maanvi said and left Viraat.
"One day I'll make you accept me." Viraat said to himself grinning.
The party was enjoyed by all and by the end of the evening, guests minus Jeevika's parents had left. Everyone was sitting around under the night sky, talking and making light conversation.
"Aunty, how was Jeevika di like in her childhood?" Maanvi asked Padmini.
Padmini smiled, "She was the best daughter any one can ask for. One day what happened was, Jeevika was about six or seven and anyways she broke my favourite bangle. And she felt so bad that she tried to replace it. She saved up all her pocket money and went to the jeweller's to get a replacement. Do you know what happened next?"
Maanvi shook her head.
"The bracelet was expensive but Jeevika didn't know how much. So she went to the jewellers and she finds out that the amount she saved wouldn't do. She had only got 300 rupees." Padmini laughed softly. "But Jeevika wouldn't budge. She gave a long lecture to the man and left. And then she came across a small stall on the side of a road." Padmini looked towards the teary eyed Jeevika, "and bought me the best bracelet. Haha, who says the best things are expensive? Sometimes all a mother wants is what her daughter had earned through hard work and a true heart. And when Jeevika's papa, Siddarth came home he bought along the duplicate bracelet from earlier. But I never worn it, for me my daughter's bracelet was the world's best one."
"Ma…" Jeevika said softly and gave her mother a hug.
Everyone smiled at the story when Tarun came and asked them what they wanted for tea. Since he knew what the Vadhera's tea choice was he went to ask Maanvi, and Jeevika's parents.
"Black coffee with one sugar." Siddarth said.
"Tea with one sugar and extra milk." Maanvi and Padmini said at the same time.
The family looked at them in confusion, "You guys have the same choice." Kadambari said, "Hai ni in Bollywood films I've seen this usually means the one is related to the other." Kadambari laughed. Whilst the Vadhera's smiled, there was an unusual uncomfortable silence.
"Of course! After all she is my Jeevika di's mom!" Maanvi broke the tension and rested her head on Padmini's shoulder and hugged her.
Maanvi didn't want anything to go wrong any time soon, her one and only motive is to find her parents, and for that, she needed to find P.M.
