Saachi was njoying her weekend relaxing…doing what all she liked…waking up late…watching movies…reading etc…

Late Sunday afternoon she was just abt to doze off for a nap when the door bell rang…as she opened the door she was happily surprised to see Reena…

Saachi(surprised)—Reena…tu yaha achanak …wat a surprise…come on in (noticing she is all dressed up)tu aise taiyaar hokar kyun aayi hai…jaise mere ghar nahi kisi party mein aayi hai….

Reena (settling down)—party mein aayi nahi…hume party mein jana hai..

Saachi—oh..(realizing what she said) hume matlab?

Reena—ab tere alawa yaha kaun hai…obviously hume matlab U & me …

Saachi—what me?? Mujhe kisi party ka invitation nahi aaya…mujhe ache se yaad aaya hai…

Reena—who mujhe nahi sunna but u have to come with me…

Saachi—aisa bina jaan pehchan bina invitation I cant gatecrash someone's party…

Reena—tujhe kisi anjaan ki party mein nahi lekar ja rahi ….tujhe special invitation hai….

Saachi—wow!! Mujhe special invitation aur mujhe hi nahi pata…great…

Reena-- iska matlab tujhe sir ka phone nahi aaya…apne bday party pe invite karne ke liye?

Saachi(confused)—sir ka phone matlab ? Aditya sir ka bday? I didn't knew abt it…

Reena—Aditya Sir nahi….Vivaan sir… par unhone toh kaha tha he will call u…isliye toh tera cell no. bhi manga tha…

Saachi(was abt fall down from couch)—what ? tune Vivaan ko? I mean Vivaan sir ko mera number diya…aur party invitation ka Vivaan se kya connection hai…

Reena –ab party Vivaan sir ki hai toh obviously wohi invite karenge…but strange tujhe phone nahi aaya ?? mujhe ache se yaad hai Friday ko he asked me for ur number…

Reena narrated how she had bumped in Vivaan & he had asked for Saachi's number & he had invited her & specifically told her to bring along Saachi for his birthday party on Sunday…

As Reena mentioned Friday Saachi also recollected Vivaan was abt to say something abt Sunday when he had dropped her… A look of slight surprise crosses her face as she takes this information in. She then remembers his words from the day before

"Vivaan—ek min…Before I forget…actually Sunday ko I want "

Was he going to invite her to the party… If he had, would she have agreed? She was lost in thots when she was snapped out of then as she heard Reena

Reena (shook her)—kya soch rahi hai…ab come on get ready…

Saachi(reluctant)—ermm main…I mean main kya karungi…

Reena—party mein jakar bhajan kirtan karna…wat a stupid question saachi…

Saachi—mujhe nahi jana…I mean…its Sunday & I hate spoiling my Sundays…

Reena—par main Vivaan sir ko promise kardiya…specially invite kiya hai …..plzzz

Saachi becomes alarmed on hearing this as well as curious….why Vivaan has done so?? Now what he is upto…?

After much pleadings & coaxing from Reena finally she gave in…actually Reena threatened her…

Reena—ab tu nahi maani…Vivaan sir ne kaha tha unhe inform kardu…he will personally come to pick u up…

Saachi (finally gave up knowing how stubborn can Vivaan be)—fine!! Chalo…but I will come back early….mujhe waha zayada rukne ke liye force nahi karegi…

Reena—promise madam ab jaldi se taiyaar hoja….Gooo!!

Two hours later Saachi-Reena are greeted by Aditya & Muskaan at one of the expensive hotels…

Aditya was happy to see Saachi…he was really fond of her…sweet simple hardworking girl…unlike others…

Aditya(welcomed them)-- I am so glad you two could come. Please, come in lovely ladies…

He introduced them to Muskaan… she was trying to place her…she felt as she had seen her somewhere but cudn't recollect…

Saachi—Thanku Sir…

Muskaan—Hi… (cheerfully welcomes them in as well) ermm kya hum kabhi mile hai ?

Saachi(confused)—I am sorry but I don't think so…hum mile…

Muskaan—but I am feeling so shayad kahi dekha hai maine tumhe….

Aditya(joked)—thank god yeh line maine nahi boli…u wud have killed me biwi

Muskaan(smacked him)—adi…but seriously I feel so …

Saachi(smiled)—may be aapne kisi aur ko dekha ho…& confusing it with me…anyways its nice meeting u…

Muskaan—same here…plz njoy the party…

As Saachi-Reena left to join their colleagues …muskaan kept wondering why her face is looking so similar…she had surely seen her if not met or talked to her…she pushes the thot back as she sees more guests coming

As Saachi proceeds in walking into the hall beautifully decorated for the occasion. She takes in the sight of it all, seeing all the cluster of people dressed to impress …She suddenly feels like she doesn't belong despite knowing so people at the party as they are all mostly from the office. It is now becoming a realization to her of what Vivaan is really worth of.

Eventually Saachi fell into conversation with her colleagues…as they were chatting with they all decided that they shud go & wishVivaan & hand him over the gift…& Saachi shud do the honours as she is the head of the team…she is the leader in the office…

Saachi(alarmed)—main? I mean …tum log jao…

Reena—come on saachi …ur the boss in office chalo apni team ke behalf par toh tumhi wish karogi…

Saachi—par main….I mean koi bhi wish kar sakta hai…why me…u guys carry on

Saachi had to give in as all her team members persuaded her… she had no choice but to accept even not wanting to…. Before she knows it she is brought before her boss… Vivaan, looking dangerously handsome in an all black suit , tieless with a few of his shirt buttons open. …

She watches nervously as he turns his attention from speaking to someone…his attention shifts on them as he sees them approaching …& his gaze rests on Saachi… what a coincidence both turned out here in black…

Vivaan cudn't help but agree that she looks absolutely lovely in a black saree with simple jewellery…looking simple & elegant like always he has known her….standing out from all the crowd gathered in the party all decked up ladies all dressed up here for the occasion…as if its there bday…not his….

She is simple when compared to the other females in the hall… but graceful and divine at the same time…. For the first time he is seeing her silky black hair out in beautiful curls that kiss the sides of her face… giving her an endearing look….For once he is tempted to… take her in his arms and kiss her senseless.

Saachi gone all red under intensity of his gaze…it was only when she was nudged by Reena she composed herself & wished him Happy Bday…nervously…

Vivaan (smiled)—Thanku & glad u came….

Saachi—uske liye Reena ko thanx kahiye…

Vivaan—ofcourse…I am thanking her only…(to Reena) thanx… (while keeping his eyes on Saachi who looks anywhere but at him)

Reena(happily)—u are welcome sir…afterall aapne itne "pyaar se" invite kiya tha…Saachi toh aane nahi wali thi… itna convince karna pada ise…until had to threaten her abt u personally coming to pick her (laughed)

Vivaan(amused)—is it Miss Saachi…(mumbled) I didn't knew u are so scared of me…(Saachi glared him)

A smirk lingers on his lips which irritates her to no ends… She hated how she always gave him a reason to be amused…. On top of that she is already in an offset mood as it is and repeatedly cursing her best friend….she wonders whether she is hers or Vivaan's friend…

They are interrupted by Sonia standing promptly beside Vivaan

Sonia—Vivaan there u are aur main sab jagah dhund rahi thi… to wish u happy bday…

Saachi turns red at the sight of her… awed by her closeness to him… as if she has every right to touch him…why cant she stay away from her sight… She ignores how Vivaan smiles that same to die for smile in Sonia's way and thanks her genuinely….

Vivaan-- Thank you, Sonia You surely make a fine sight tonight….

He comments bringing a pleased blush onto Sonia and causing her to giggle flirtatiously. …If looks cud kill Sonia wud have been long dead by the way Saachi had been glaring her… she is brewing in anger…she doesn't why she is letting her effect her so much but still she cant tolerate her near Vivaan…she hates the sight they make…

Sonia(smiled)-- You are such a charmer…Vivaan… Come on now, Adi sir bula rahe hai…

She says while draping her arms around his and tugging on it lightly to lead him to the center stage…

Vivaan (before leaving)--I hope you all guys enjoy the party…. Excuse us plzz…

He bids them coolly and gives Saachi a lingering look… eyes twinkling brighter than usual…

At the centre… Aditya stands along with Muskaan & Vivaan… drawing attention from the guests. It's the sight of Vivaan, though, that really captures Saachi's attention. He looks like a dream… standing out clearly by his handsome looks and the spotlight directed on him. He wears a modest smile perhaps not very keen on receiving this much attention from everyone….

Aditya(smiled)-- Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome…Muskaan & me I are glad aap sab yaha aa sake…& join us for this special occasion to celebrate the birthday of a well loved member in our family my brother-in-law Vivaan….who is celebrating it after so many years…. As all of you know, he has been back in India after 5 long years—So what a better way to celebrate his homecoming than throwing this grand party in his honor… Of course his birthday really is an excuse for this very reason…Otherwise my brother-in-law wouldn't have gone for the idea in any chance…. (he joked) infact an hour ago Muskaan had tough time dragging him to this hotel…(Vivaan smacked him) jokes apart , I would like to invite you all to celebrate this event with us together... afterall a man only turns thirty once in his lifetime… (another subtle laughter passes through the crowd) Now I would like to raise a toast in this man's honor…(added a little emotionally) Vivaan , for all those years that u have lost this celebration…. this is my and Muskaan's way of making it up to you…We hope that your success continues to grow and that you become even filthier rich than you are now….(laughed) And yes before I 4get to add what muskaan told me to say… she wants that next year u celebrate ur bday alongwith ur wife as your di wishes for you to finally settle down… Thirty is pushing it a little much, don't you think…( again laughter rings throughout the hall). & seeing all lovely ladies around ….i think its not much difficult… (asking crowd) Right ladies? (gaining plenty of cheers from the women) So let's hear it again to Vivaan…for his his success and the hopeful end to his bachelorhood….(aditya ends with raising his flute)

Vivaan gives a humored laugh as well & on an impulse hugged him & muskaan…she almost had to stop Vivaan from feeling emotional…

Aditya (to lighten)--Now let us bring out the cake so the birthday boy can cut it…(as cake is rolled in… aditya presents Vivaan with a bottle of champagne and as well as a slender long knife) shayad aap sab nahi jante …Vivaan has an interesting way of opening a bottle of champagne by cutting it open…. So I'd like him to demonstrate it to us all especially for this occasion….

Vivaan(sheepishly)—jiju…yeh sab nahi plz…I mean…

Aditya—come on Vivaan…I insist... Come on, be a sport

The crowd watches as Vivaan gives in by taking the bottle into his hand and preparedly focuses on it while sliding the sharp side of the knife back and forth against the glass. In a sudden swift movement he cuts the bottle diagonally in a grace and perfection and the rich champagne gushes out and with it a hyped cheering from the guests…

After some time passed at the end of the cake ceremony…Saachi found herself alone as the dance floor was made open to all dancing & all her colleagues & other couples joined the dance floor didn't waste a moment to go and indulge themselves into the music….She was in two minds to leave the hall & go back home or she shud wait for Reena outside…as she was abt to turn around…like always she bumped into Vivaan who was carrying a drink…

Vivaan(smiled)—thank god…is baar drink nahi giri…else it wud have been a hat trick…

Saachi—as always tum shayad dekh kar nahi chal sakte…anyways I gotta go…

Vivaan(surprised)—Go!! Kaha… ? (amused as usual when anything comes to her)

Saachi—kaha matlab…kahi bhi…

Vivaan—par aise kaise…its just u came…(saachi was abt to say something but he interrupted) aur waise bhi you are yet to honor me with a dance (smiled & placed the flute onto a waiter's tray passing by)

Saachi(startled by his abrupt request)—excuse me?

Vivaan (stretching his hand & repeated)—I said, do you mind honoring me with a dance? (His grin grows…looks mischievously at her) just a dance Miss Saachi or are you afraid?

Her mind still whirling from this request of his...she catches only the last of his words and becomes defensive not wanting him to know that she feels threatened by him in any way…dance with him…No way sounds good …but she will have to prove him… that she is a strong woman…not same what she was 5 yrs back…

Saachi-- No, of course I'm not… but

Vivaan(smiled widely)—Excellent toh chalo … (instantly takes a hold of her hand & almost tugs her along to dance floor)

Saachi almost panics on seeing this and tries to withhold his pressure by staying in place…

Saachi(nervously)—Vivaan main…just …

Vivaan: I will hear none of it Saachi (giving her a pleading look) & this is the least you can do for the birthday boy…. (ending with a charming smile that always melted her)

With such adorable look he gave … Saachi finds herself incapable of fighting him any longer as he wins and leads her toward the center stage…. The blush in her cheeks builds as she is conscious of everyone's intrigued stares on them... She avoids looking into his eyes as he turns to look at her and takes a hold of her waist with his free hand… placing it caressingly on her lower waist and drawing her close. She feels warm by their close proximity and uncomfortable under his transfixed gaze on her….

He easily slips into the dance, swaying along with the melody of the music and Saachi has no choice but to unwillingly follow his lead….she is conscious of the stares she receives from her co-workers & it nerves her and she glances up to look at Vivaan who is absolutely oblivious to it all… She wonders what her friends will think... She tries once more to break free from his hold on her…

Saachi(as confidently as possible trying to distance herself)—Vivaan please…Sab dekh rahe hai…What will they think?

Vivaan--Frankly, I could care less what everyone thinks….& wud prefer… You shouldn't either.

Saachi-- You are my boss…

Vivaan(mocking): Really, I had no idea….

Saachi (stresses)—Vivaan plzz… I am your employee….

Vivaan: toh…

Saachi: Toh matlab? Maine pehle bhi kaha tha…We are to share a strict boss-employee relationship….

Vivaan(laughed)-- You continue to amaze me with your enriching information…

Saachi (irritated)--You do not care at all …that you are crossing a line here?

Vivaan(continued the dance)—bilkul nahi…coz tonight I am neither your boss nor are you my employee… I am just a man who wishes to dance with the most beautiful woman in this room….

Despite herself saachi can't help but blush bright pink from his murmured words... He winks at her which brings her back on track…reminding herself that this man is a charmer and perhaps just wishes to enjoy poking fun at her plight...

Saachi (a little angrily)—in dat case u have mistaken me for Sonia I guess…

She watches how his eyes take her in and a look of ponder crosses his features. His gaze averts back onto her and a serious look adores his face.

Vivaan-- Have I? … How silly of me for the mix-up….par ab galti ho gayi …I cant do much… ab dance toh karna padega na…cant leave in the middle…it doesn't look nice…

She fumes on seeing the familiar amused smile of his return and how his eyes tease her mercilessly….

Saachi(almost pushed him but he steadied himself)-- Do you enjoy provoking me like this?

Vivaan—its really fun u know…tumhara chehra dekhne layak hota hai … ab tak tumhara gussa waisa hi hai… (Her frown remains firm on her face as Vivaan draws her in closer his arm wrapped around her securely) ok fine…I was just kidding…can I get a smile…(she doesn't he adds sweetly) plzz… Let's not ruin this moment ….

Saachi mutters a few foul words under her breath and proceeds to sway along…She is thankful when the song is over a few moments later but her relief is taken away as his arms only tighten around her and he looks at her with a forming grin….

Vivaan(mischeviously)—agar tumhe lagta hai…will let u go off so soon…u are mistaken… I am still much in the mood for dancing…. (smiled)

She feels herself blush from his words and her body tingle from his touch. Either way she attempts to free herself…

Saachi: Why don't you go and ask your girlfriend for the next dance then…

Vivaan(confused)--Girlfriend?

Saachi-- Yes, your darling Sonia. I am sure she is not very fond of the sight of you and me dancing to begin with….

Saachi watches a look of frustration cross his face but his amused smile reappear despite his annoyance with her at the moment.

Vivaan: You drive me mad…. Have I ever told you that before? (She is silenced by this as well as taken aback) she is not my girlfriend and never will be….And I do not owe anyone explanations…I am a grown man if you haven't noticed….

Inwardly Saachi is he is satisfied & pleased in knowing that no sort of thing is occurring between the two of them….She refrains from giving a small victory smile… but smile she does… even puts an end to her attempts to let herself free and silently goes back to dancing along with the new song feeling less angry with the man...

They slip into a silence that stretches but a comfortable one… she feels herself loosen and lower her defenses and actually relax herself for once in front of him since the time she had seen him after all these years… By midway into the song, she even forgets the stares from co-workers and friends, only having thoughts traveling around at this moment alone and nothing else….

Unconsciously she nears toward him… giving into the feel of his arms around her. All she knew was that it felt nice being like this in his arms and felt strangely complete in a way….She muses over this for a moment, questioning her thoughts how the incompleteness she has felt in these 5 years have vanished…does she still love him…on second thots had she ever stopped loving him…why is it that she always feel so connected to him…happy when he is around…

She is rattled out of them by his voice…

Vivaan(softly)--Would you mind accompanying me to the terrace?

As she looks back at him she is captivated by the intensity in his stormy eyes and finds herself subconsciously nod her head in yes

They arrive through the white French doors, into the terrace overlooking the thriving garden below and marble carved water fountain that generates enough light for them to see along with the brightness from the full moon in the clear starry sky…

Saachi is completely bowled by the beautiful, serene sight and walks further toward the end of the terrace overlooking the view below.

Saachi (smiled): It's beautiful out here….(she feels Vivaan's presence near from behind)

Vivaan(explains while standing beside her at a decent space) -- The garden is well taken care of—I am make sure of that…

They stand together in a silence, looking at the gushing water pouring from the glowing, marble fountain and at the eerie sky… until Saachi glances over to him…she was curious to know why exactly he had brought her here… not knowing where his intentions lie

Saachi: How come you have taken me out here?

Vivaan (simply stated)-- To get away from the noise and people…. It gets slightly irritating after awhile… I am surprised I have even lasted this long….

She fully turns around… & rests her back against the railing… meeting him eye to eye, Still his intentions are unclear

Saachi—par sab log kya sochenge…(joked) birthday boy missing from his own party…They will wonder….

She remarks, wanting to remind him that they really shouldn't be out here

Saachi (adds slowly)-- especially that Sonia…

She sees a grin appearing on Vivaan's face as his eyes shine brightly at her… taking slow steps toward her.

Vivaan(laughed)--You really have an obsession with Sonia, don't you?

Saachi(embarrassed to bring up her name & hurriedly nodded in No)—No, I do not….

Vivaan—but I think u do so…tumhe yahi lagta hai na that I like her… (murmurs softly )when the fact is I have all eyes on u… (unknowingly she blushed & becomes self-conscious )

Saachi--: … Are you flirting with me, Mr. Singhania…

She humouredly jokes to keep the mood light… She was not comfortable with the sudden seriousness presiding between them…

Vivaan(bluntly): Yes… (she turns a darker shades of red)

Saachi—u shudn't Sir (stressing on sir)

Vivaan—can we forget sir… we will deal with it later…want to talk something else…

Saachi—kya??

He sees her smile almost vanishing…& coldness in her eyes returning …so he decided to drop the topic…he didn't want to spoil the moment …He simply smiles and alarms Saachi as he steps near and stands directly in front of her… placing his hands on either side of her on the railing…almost blocking her… leaning closer to her…causing Saachi's nerves to build… her heartbeat to increase faster than normal…

Vivaan (seriously)—I am curious…. What did you get me for my birthday?

Saachi is stumped by his question and stares at him dumbstruck…. She didn't get him anything mainly because she wasn't aware of his bday…she didn't even brought him simple flowers too…since she didn't wanted to meet him…. She struggles for an answer and suddenly remembers that while she along with her team members she had already given him the gift

Saachi(nervously)—ermm who thodi der pehle gift diya toh tha tumhe…I mean aapko…(she says to remind him)

Vivaan(smirks)—I really doubt…jo insaan meri bday party mein aana nahi chahta tha… who could not even wish me Happy Birthday properly ….woh mere liye gift bhi laya hoga…isn't it strange….

It seems for the millionth time that Saachi once more blushes from embarrassment and she looks at him sheepishly clearly depicting her guilt….His smile widens on seeing this…

Vivaan(mischeviously): don't bother if u didn't bought the gift… I have my own means of getting it from you…

Before Saachi can even ask what he means by his words… Vivaan lowers down and claims her lips with his….
