I have been watching II6 with a great strain. There are a few things that are not making the show classy...

1. I was so happy when Ashaji was taken in as the 4th judge. I thought her deep knowledge and expertise will add an extra sheen to the show. Instead, I could see it simmer in the selection rounds itself. She would not approve of many singers who sang songs of recent times and openly praised those who stuck to old melodies. This made the show lose out on a lot of good singers who would have otherwise enhanced the quality of this show.

2. Her liking Devender is fine. It is only natural that certain people feel more strongly about a few than others. But blindly, insensitively and out rightly supporting him each time and every time at the cost of pulling down the morale of others was really unexpected from such a senior judge. Ritika who is in fact, younger than Devender does not get that God motherly attitude or appreciation even when she sings well.

I even now appreciate her spirit and attitude about moving on with the times. But like any human being, she has her flip side too.

Of how much i have heard in this season of Indian Idol for me

Vipul has been the best.Consistent and confident in his singing throughout.

Sohini is a great singer but still lacking the cinfidence.hope she breaks her shackles n comes forth better. She needs some confidence boosting from the judges.

Poorvi will always be considered one-type singer.
Ritika(cute n sweet) shez good but dont see her becoming indian idol.

Devendra=this guy is too much over-rated.he is good but not that good as being praised by the judges.

Were the eliminations always based on junta and judges or is it only this season? The whole elimination process is very vague...

That's what I felt!
In fact I wanted to make a topic on this, but didn't end up making it
I respect her a lot, and I know that she is very experienced and has had such a HUGE contribution to the Indian Music Industry... But I found it very... discriminatory of her to comment on song choice and always suggest old songs to be sung... Not saying old songs are bad, in fact I personally love some old songs, but we can't forget that we want an Indian Idol for today's generation!
I was really disappointed with her comments during the theatre rounds...

You have expressed exactly the same thoughts as mine! Unless one has an open mind to listen to music in any form - classical or western or light music etc. it will be extremely difficult to be an unbiased and good judge. I do not think it is in common capacity of many. Hence the role of a judge takes a different level of difficulty since they have to set aside their personal preferences and evaluate! Hence they can make or break a show. ;)

I disagree...

Devendra has great voice quality and the way he sings the song making his own and not copying anyone just touches your heart.

Asha ji is seeing great singer in him hence praising him...she is not of a kind to praise anyone( has seen her as a judge in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa).

Listen to this song sung by Devendra with Harshdeep Kaur ...Nirmohiya... might change your opinion

I know it is very early to say and he is only 17...but his voice is great for romantic songs and has resemble Rafi saab's voice ( my dad say's the same 😊)

Devendra if keeps intact to his values will be one day a great singer in Indian history

While talking about the judges in a reality show, what should be the motive? To show off their knowledge or to unbiasedly judge with an open and objective mind? Very few can actually do it according to me while most others are keen to show off their greatness!
