First runner-up of Business Baazigar is sore over once-ousted contestant Irfan Alam winning the title, lambasts channel

Irfan Alam, who scaled the heights of popularity bagging the much coveted title of the Business Baazigar, left some contestants heart-broken. And Mohammed Ali Ismail, the first runner-up is rather disappointed with the outcome.
"This only proves the incompetence of the jury. Irfan was out of the show a long time ago. How could the authorities allow him a last-minute entry, which defies the regular norms of the show?" fumes Ismail. "Besides, his business idea was initially rejected by the judges and my project is still under scrutiny. Ismail is also bitter about being kept in the dark about the possibilities of a wild card entry.
"This is ridiculous. Subhashji should not have initiated this wild card at the eleventh hour. Even Mr Naresh Goyal (founder chairman, Jet Airways) and Mr Vijaypath Singhania (chairman emeritus of Raymond group) expressed their disapproval," says Ismail.
When Ismail communicated his displeasure to Subhash Chandra, chairman, Zee Telefilms, Chandra quipped that Ismail should actually be happy about the fact that now on, even the runners-up would be backed financially, besides the winner.
"I feel so helpless and exploited by the channel, which only aspired to make money from advertisements. I think it was all premeditated. I am planning to demand a monetary compensation for wasting my time and energy," says Ismail. He admits he was given the funding to start his business.
Ashish Kaul, senior VP, Zee Network says, "It is disappointing that Ali feels like a typical loser mindset at work after being defeated comprehensively in front of the most distinguished industrialists and visionaries of our times. I would advise him to focus on his shortcomings that he encountered at the Business Baazigar platform. We are disappointed because Ali has been committed a huge sum that is equivalent to that of the winner. The sum is to help Ali start his own business."
