Why DOES Khushi lie so much?

As much as I love Barun and ASR, I am and always have been a Khushi sympathizer. I feel the poor girl has been wronged by everybody, including her own family, and has gone through enough and more turmoil for a lifetime. I hate the fact that she is always blamed for everything that goes wrong. The sight of her sitting alone in a corner by the pool and crying in the episodes after she was forced into marriage still breaks my heart.

But all emotions aside, WHY does the girl lie so much? For someone that everybody claims is innocent with a heart of gold and who is also mature beyond her age, knows exactly what is right and what is wrong, etc, why do lies come so easily to her? I've always wondered this but the thought came to the forefront again last week when I watched the episodes that aired on Monday & Tuesday - she lies at RM to leave there, then lies to Buaji and her parents, then to the doctor, then again to ASR - and those lies flow so glibly from her lips, and that baffles me! However, today's episode was the last straw - she lied to ASR and said she would go back with him, then made up a story again about having fallen down and hurt her foot. Does she really think that is the way to go?

And does she really not think things through - as Arnav rightly asked her, what was she planning on telling her family when they asked her why she didn't intend to go back to her sasural? Or was she counting on nobody raising an eyebrow if she just continued to stay with her Buaji and parents for the next 3-40 years? Does she really live only in the moment though she's waiting for the 10 remaining days of the contract to be over?

How does her mind function, seriously? I wish there was a little more consistency to this girl woman - who is so strong at times that she makes you wonder what she's made of!

congrats on your first post...and the latest i have heard in the forum is that her lies dont hurt anyone so they are not serious but i disagree with that...i think both the characters have their fair share of errs so i dont want to stand by and support one of them ill just sit back and enjoy the show

I do agree that they both have their flaws. But everybody, including himself, knows Arnav's character and attitude - not that that is any kind of a defense. Khushi, however, is touted to be the ideal daughter - so how can she not know that it's wrong to fib, however big or small a lie it is? a lie is a lie is a lie - and whether it hurts or not, the art of prevaricating should not come so easily to a person. For those that claim that her lies don't hurt, the look in Arnav's eyes spoke volumes today methinks :)

and seriously, isn't she ever going to learn? Hiding the truth and lying is only going to land her in more soups! For once, why doesn't she stop being the martyr and think that she has to solve all the world crises alone? Why doesn't she give others - her HUSBAND - a chance by telling him exactly what's on her mind, and actually THINKING about a logical and good solution?

Sorry for the rant! It's just that this has been on my mind too long and it all found a way out today!

And have no doubts - I will definitely sit back and enjoy the show however frustrated I am! I live for 8pm these days!

i know but there are so many parallel threads running right now supporting KKGSR and disregarding ASR where we can find all kinds of logics(which i dont get myself)...and today i dont know why but i feel fans are becoming biased(im not talking about a post in particular but the whole forum)...but great post buddy!!

Yes she lies...while he blackmails her repeatedly. You decide which is worse.

Both are wrong. Both are flaws. And both need to realise this.

It's like presenting a murderer and a rapist, and asking the judge to decide who is the worst out of the two. Both are heinous crimes, and both parties should be punished accordingly! (I am not saying Khushi and Arnav should be held before a judge and "punished" 😆)
