A. They make business sense as they can made with low budgets and get in a good initial in some parts of country (mainly Central, West and East India) which pull them through. As you have said India is conservative so these type of films have no chance of being big grossers and seen by a large audience but are economically viable.

A. Its media created, Shahrukh Khan does not book the theatres, YRF will book for their film and Viacom for their film, who gets more depends on the distributors clout and what film the exhibitors prefer in their respective towns.
