What's the army connection?

Prianka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Celina Jaitley...are from an army background. Why is it that daughters of army men go into (and are sucessful) in modelling and Bollywood?

I always thought army families would be conservative with their daughters and not them enter the industry let alone make a name for themselves. Also, why does it seem they have an advantage. So what gives?

On the contrary Army kids in India are exposed to a lot of change in their life. Every year they are transferred to a new place. Hence they see many places, meet lot of new people, have to be a lot more street smart and outgoing to survive in their new environment. What they learn as kids help them later on to make a mark in glamour industry. Also Army people a lot more open-minded. Hence they encourage their kids to follow their hearts rather than conform to norms. Convincing parents to get into modelling/acting isnt tough for most Army kids.

Could be...army men are tall and their children might grown up tall (perfect for modelling)

Rest of the comments make perfect sense. Most of bollywood have connection to it. The outsiders tend to have an army background. So everyone in bolly either has a filmy background (the connection there is obvious) or from an army family (this here is not as obvious)
