He wasn't going to say just a simple thank you, he had opened his mouth to express his gratitude to her but then Aarti started talking about food and what not, she completely rejected him. I know she was hurting that Yash had called her Arpita, but what did she expect? He can't fall in love with her overnight, because their situations were different and it'll take him time. Aarti needs to be his friend first before attempting to be a lover, and had she sat down with Yash and had a proper conversation with him about what happened, she'd have received genuine gratitude and Yash would probably have noticed her injured feet too, but Aarti was too busy keeping her distance from him so what else can we expect from Yash? He made his attempt but Aarti rejected him.
