Hello everyone, first of all, Thank you so much for your lovely comments.. I adore them. 🤗 So here I am with my first chapter.
Chapter 1:
Payal woke up in the morning and wiped her tear-strained face. She must have fallen asleep while crying. As soon as she was awake, Khushi's thought came to her mind making her worried again. She got ready and came down to help OP and HP with breakfast, trying hard to divert herself.
She started serving breakfast to all. She noticed that Arnav Jiju was missing. But she had known that since the day Khushi was gone, he was not taking care of himself. She hoped, it doesn't affect his health. Anjali must be thinking the same. She called out, "Chhote, come down and have breakfast.. Please.."
At the same point, there was a knock on the door. OP opened the door, when Payal saw her. The girl was wearing sky blue color full sleeve top with black jeans. OP instantly recongnised her and let her come in. As she came pulling her suitcase, Payal observed that she was beautiful. Slim, fair with curly hair resting on her shoulder. She looked elegant, but was somewhat lost at the moment. Who was she...? was she family..? Payal didn't know. 😕
"Avani", Anjali exclaimed.
"After such a long time.. How are you dear?", asked Anjali.
She looked up as she was approaching the dining table and nodded silently with slight smile.
"You look different.. May be exhausted by the journey.." Nani inquired with concern in her voice..
She didn't reply but stared at the stairs. Everyone followed her gaze. Arnav was there, surprised to see her. There was some problem. She looked pathetic, he thought.
"Avani", he said softly.
"Arnav", her voice chocked. Tears started falling her cheeks which she was holding for some time. And with that, Arnav rushed to her and hugged her. She started sobbing in his arms unable to control herself.
"Avani.. Ssshhh.. Please tell me what happened?", Arnav asked getting worried.
"Arnav.. Ma.. Ma.. She is no more..", she said sobbing uncontrollably and the whole family was shocked.😲
Arnav didn't know what to say, he himself had gone through that pain. He knew that none of consoling words would work. So he just let her cry. Her Ma was close to him as well. He couldn't stop his tears when he saw her breaking down like that.
He brought her up in Nani's room and let her lie on the bed. He hold her hand while slowly she fall into sleep after crying too much.
Everyone in the family had tears in their eyes after hearing the news. Payal was really looking confused, so Arnav explained her that Avani was his childhood friend. They were best buddies. Their families were very close. Also, he was aware that her mom was in hospital. But they were giving her the best treatment. And they were optimistic that she will be fine. Arnav wondered why Avani came all the way to Delhi from New York. And she didin't inform him earlier either. She wanted to meet him obviously, or his family - her second family. She had lost her father 5 years back and she was living with her mom in America. She was their only child. And she was shattered after losing her mom too.
Payal felt really bad for her. Poor girl, she thought.
It was almost 4 p.m. when Avani got up. She looked around and found Arnav working on his laptop typing slowly, may be not to disturb her sleep. Arnav looked up to see her awake and instantly came near her.
"Are you alright?", he couldn't stop himself to ask her that. He needed to know.
"Yeah.. I am better now.. However evil the truth might be.. we have to accept it.. Right?", tears were again forming in her eyes.
"As time passes, we feel less pain. We miss our loved ones, but life gives us reasons to look forward for better tomorrow.. You have one.. We are always there with you.. Hold onto that.", Arnav said truthfully.
"I know", she agreed.
"This too will pass." She said more to herself. It was her line to convince when someone is difficult situation. Tough situations in life make us strong, a better person. Life teaches lessons which none of the teacher can ever teach. She had learnt all the lessons the hard way. So now she knew value of every little thing in life. She missed her family very much. Only one name came to her mind when she needed emotional support and she came to him. She very well knew that he wouldn't utter a word, but even if he was just there, she felt better. He was connected to her family in many ways. They had lots of childhood memories.
Just then Payal brought tea for her and broke chain of her thoughts. Akash had told Avani about Payal. Avani looked at her and said, "Akash is really lucky. You are such a sweetheart." Payal smiled back at her and left the room.
"Tell me what all I missed", Avani demanded looking at Arnav. He knew what exactly she meant. She knew him better than anyone else, even better than Di. He started explaining.
Thats it for now.. So how is it? I know this is really confusing. But this thought came to my mind initially. And i wanted to share the original idea without amending or altering it. 😕 But I would like to know your opinion on this. Constructive feedback is always welcome. 😊
