Even as the teaser trailer to the muchawaited "Maattrraan" has been released, KV Anand tells us that he had a tough time deciding the theme of it.
Anand, who's currently shooting patchwork for his Suriya-starrer, says, "We had three teasers ready for this film. One had aerial shots of the locations where we had shot, including Russia and Chennai. However, we didn't want to use it because it would not convey the theme of the film. The other one was that of Suriya performing daredevil stunts. But we decided against it because that would make our film look like an action thriller. Also, it won't stand out from the teasers of other films. The last one was what we went ahead with — highlighting the characters that Suriya plays in the film. The fun-loving nature of Vimalan and Akhilan and the reaction they get from the public was its theme. We knew humour would work big time, and are glad it id!"
