I know that I am in strict minority, but still since this is a reasonably democratic forum, I would like to view my opinon on what I think is happening in KS!
Somehow, inspite of the obvious pain that Jai Walia is undergoing, my heart still goes out for Bani!
Just because Jai is mopping his tears in private and tearing apart his heart for the child he supposedly cannot have, doesn't automatically make him the aggreived party and Bani the villain!
As they say, that whatever goes, comes around one day and we all have to pay up for our sins in this life, just as we reap the benefits for our kindness in this life itself.
Bani is totally justified in suspecting Jai of tricking her once more, why not? If Jai can fake his death to get her back, why can't he send her a White Sari to scare her about his life and hence gain sympathy in her heart? And remember, Bani suspects only afterwards, her first reaction is of worry and concern for Jai, which she expressed through her tears! But as they say, once bitten is twice shy, she calls up the Courier Company and on finding that the Courier originated from the Walia House, her natural suspect is obviously Jai, the man who would gain the most by doing something like this! Alright, Bani might be wrong on one front, does she really think that Jai is juvenile and foolish enough to try something like this so that the first suspicion falls on him?😆
Coming back to serious matters, Bani was more than correct in leaving Jai. Who can overlook the death of a Parent? More so, if that truth was concealed from you for such a long time. Bani has not been moralistic about this issue, she readily forgave Jai when Ranvijay lied to her that Jai had killed his wife by mistake, but for obvious reasons, she could not overlook the fact that it was her Mother whom her husband had got killed, even if by accident! Bani was completely human in her reactions, her forgiving Jai for killing Ranvijay's wife showed that she cared for the man whom she loved more than a strange woman whom he had accidentally killed, but her not forgiving Jai for killing his Mother, showed that she obviously loved her Mother much more than she ever loved Jai! A Parent is above every relation on this Earth, even before the Almighty God, then how could Bani place Jai's feelings above the one she has for her Mother?
Also, as Bani repeatedly tells herself that she hates herself more than she hates Jai, because inspite of everything that happened, her heart still yearns for him and that she still loves him.......The fact that Bani still cares and loves Jai shows that somewhere in her heart, she does not hold him responsible for what happened, but at the same time loathes herself that she not only married but fell in love with a man who had in part wiped off her family and brought about its destruction! Its not a question of how logical Bani's thinking is, for emotions and love do not work on the principal of logic, but more on the dictates of the Heart. Bani not forgiving Jai shows that she has cared a lot for him, but at the same time, cared much more for her Mother and her Family, which only endears Bani more than ever before!😊
Bani has never seeked any revenge on Jai till date, but Jai made Bani pay moment by moment for what her sister had done to him! How is that justified? Jai couldn't handle a broken heart, but he expects Bani to handle a broken life and come back running to him? Jai couldn't forgive Pia and Pushkar for a "Mistake" they committed, but he expects Bani to forgive him for a "Crime" he committed? Jai nursed his broken heart by drowning himself in alchohol and emotionally battering his helpless wife, but he simply cannot take the fact that his wife is keeping him away from his Child? As Bani tells Jai today, that she empathizes with his suffering and pain for his child, but then this is the same suffering and pain that her Mother had felt for Bani!
Why should Bani act benevolent and all-forgiving to Jai, when all she has done till now is close her eyes towards his numerous faults and failings, forgive him without thinking twice, accepting him for what he was, surrendering to him without him asking her to, being a wife, being a friend, being a lover, being a Mother, being there for him all the time, day in and day out. And for what? Only to be informed by him that he had once accidentally killed her Mother a few years back and could not gather the guts to tell her the truth, but now expects to be forgiven by her?
Jai always chooses the easy route......He chose Pia, because he knew that she could be seduced by his wealth, he then chose Bani, because he knew that was the only way to save his honor, he chose to take his revenge through his wife, because she was the easiest available and most vulnerable target, he chose to throw her out of his house, because that was the only way to face his own insecurities, he chose to get her in his house, because he wanted to save his face in front of Massi, he chose to fend fences with her, because he realized what a small person he is infront of her large-heartedness, he chose to consummate his marriage with Bani, because that was the only way he see to pacify her emotional state, he chose to call his night-out with her as a mistake, because he didn't have the courage to commit himself again, he chose to emotionally blackmail her by not prying into her past, because he was so ashamed to face it like a man, he chose to stop her from going out of his life, because he realized a tad too late what he was about to lose, he chose to get Bani back in his life with desperation, because now she is carrying his child, which he wants at all cost!
Jai is selfish. Period. Jai Walia might be the most enigmatic, attractive and spellbinding character to be seen on Television in ages, but he is also one of the rare breed of "Heros" or "Protogonists" who is completely self-occupied and sees only his happiness, either by choice or by desperation!
Bani on the other hand has been unbelivingly and inhumanly supreme. She not only accepted Jai with all her heart, when he had thrown her ruthlessly out of his room on his Wedding night, but chose to put her happiness, her individuality, her relations, her self-respect, her past, her present and even her future for a man, who never really cared for her, leave aside ever loving her!
If Bani is unrelenting and unforgiving towards Jai today, she is only being human and for a change not a doormat, who will let anyone walk over her and wipe his foot with! Jai deserves this treatment from Bani totally, because unlike him, she is not shallow or petty enough to take revenge, but is just keeping herself and her child away from the Man, who in some measure did take a part of her life with him, even if by accident.
Ok, now let the brickbats come.......😆
Cheers,
MT
