But there is NO guarantee that the next appointee will not sprout the same kind of criminal nonsense!!

I watched the entire documentary through the link posted on the website. There were 3 other "representatives" of Hinduism who expressed the same opinion, though with varying degrees of vehemence.

1. One I didn't recognize.
2. One was the Kachi Shankaracharya
and the last, and the one I was most disappointed by

3. Veer Bhadra Mishra (who is associated with the Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi and with the Clean Ganga campaign) Don't know why I expected him to be progressive?

So, not all these people are "random" pandits...

Stalin was right, how can we solve the problem if we refuse to acknowledge that one exists and if we refuse to take responsibility for it!

What's worse is to see all the revisionist historians crawl out of the woodwork -- that's just great!
Why are people going on the defensive against the indefensible?! 😕

Sorry but what I was try to say has been misunderstood. I am not denying we have a problem and we have been treating a section of people badly on the basis of their birth. It is inhuman and totally wrong. I am not blaming AK, he is the host but he can't be held responsible for every word spoken on the show.

I called the Head of Kashi Math as a random priest, may be I did not word it well. What I meant is that they only showed an Extreme view point on the issue. He may be the head but he sure has not understood things the way it should have been and he is spreading his misinterpretation in the name of Hinduism due to his position. They should have got an unbiased scholar too who could have told the things in correct light, the way they should be understood.

I just want the suppressors and the suppressed to know that Hinduism, in its core does not teach to mistreat people on the basis of their birth. People with vested interests have distorted the meaning to their advantage to establish their supremacy. Else how can one explain RCB (Roman Catholic Brahmin), there are no Brahmins in Christianity then from where did this sect come into being?? Its battle of Supremacy and religion is being used as a tool. I was only trying to clear a negative impression of the religion I practice.

NO,I don't think you've been misunderstood-you are confused yourself!
I am not blaming AK, he is the host but he can't be held responsible for every word spoken on the show.
TRUE! You weren't quite so unequivocal in your initial post
I called the Head of Kashi Math as a random priest, may be I did not word it well.
He is NOT a random priest-he is the HEAD of one of the major Maaths in the country-are we agreed about THAT?!
What I meant is that they only showed an Extreme view point on the issue. He may be the head but he sure has not understood things the way it should have been and he is spreading his misinterpretation in the name of Hinduism due to his position.
He HASN'T inherited the post, has he? He has been APPOINTED or selected? If HIS view is perceived as wrong by you-imagine HOW many lay people regard his word as the word of Godly authority.
They should have got an unbiased scholar too who could have told the things in correct light, the way they should be understood.
AK REALLY is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't! If he had brought in Historians ANOTHER group would have done a war dance(preferably around his dead body!) decrying his intentions to insult Hinduism by not asking the REAL experts-these very "random priests"!! Does the average HINDU who goes to a temple take the opinion of the HISTORIAN into account or does he follow the priest when engaging in a religious rite???
I just want the suppressors and the suppressed to know that Hinduism, in its core does not teach to mistreat people on the basis of their birth. People with vested interests have distorted the meaning to their advantage to establish their supremacy. Else how can one explain RCB (Roman Catholic Brahmin), there are no Brahmins in Christianity then from where did this sect come into being??
FROM CASTE BASED PERCEPTIONS FROM HINDUISM!! WHERE ELSE?? You can take Hinduism out of a convertee but not his/her casteism!
Its battle of Supremacy and religion is being used as a tool. I was only trying to clear a negative impression of the religion I practice.
There is NO "negative IMPRESSION" being conveyed-its a REALITY of the religion as IT IS PRACTICED that is being held up for its followers to be made AWARE.If you DENY that there are SERIOUS malpractices in how any/all religions are being practiced, then there is little hope or room for ground level improvement.

And lastly= DON'T JUST PRACTICE YOUR RELIGION-GET PERFECT AND BETTER AT IT!

^ what's with so much in bold letters, are you at shouting at me. What did I say that was so wrong? I never said malpractices are not followed. About being confused myself, I am more sane than I am being perceived. I don't need to know what I should be practicing from a random username on the forum. If the priest has an extreme point of view, the one I read above is the other extreme. No place for a peaceful sane discussion as always.

You can ignore me if you please. My response was to your "and lastly" comment in the previous post, that is my personal matter and no one knows me here to judge what I should be doing thinking otherwise.

Anyway we are not on the same page, ignoring is the best way to go forward.

This is the episode of Upanishad Ganga I mentioned in the first post of this thread. It was aired on last Sunday.

Here's the full Episode 18 of 'Upanishad Ganga'.

The Pandit shown in sunday's episode is NOT the Head of Kaashi Matth, he is Tulasi Manas Mandir adhyaksh and Kaasi vidvanon ki mandali ka maha mantri could not hear clearly what he said there. Kaashi matadhipati is Srimad Sudhindra Teertha. The pandit who was shown cannot be taken as the only person to represent hinduism, clearly indicated by the way he was telling it.
Quoting what he said as a gensis or the start of this discrimination is not correct. I agree with @kanak the sholk has been misinterpreted over the period of time.
