she didn't know that the guru was mahadev she just took blessings just as a shishya takes blessings from the guru .

I'll add what I know about touching the feet.

A guru is at much advance stage compared to his shishya. A true Spiritual guru's Kundalini is awakened, which creats a different aura, energy field around him. when the Shishya touches his feets, some energy is passed to the shishya, which makes him charged & he gets success in achieving his goal.
