Salman Khan, who had recently appealed to the people of Pakistan to help him free Sarabjit Singh -- the Indian death-row convict languishing in a Pakistani jail -- defended him by saying he was a farmer.

Sarabjit was arrested on aug30,1990 at kasur border 4 illegal crossing in2 pak.'
