Are romantic movies not working anymore?

I didn't like ishaqzaade or TMK, the characters in the movie lacked depth. So I am disappointed that they did not work. In BBB and JWM, the characters were well-written and so was the story. I recently loved London Paris New York and MFK.

If a movie is not well made its not going to work. Well this does not apply to Comedy Genre movies. Also i think current phase is about Action/Comedy movies.

Good romantic movie has to have epic songs. It all starts from there. A good script/direction,chemistry between the lead pair are the ingredients for a good romantic movie.

Also one need to factor changes in the demography in India (India is getting younger by the day) and change in thinking of the next generation. Laila-Majnu/Heer-Ranjha kinda movies are not going to work.

Also if you look at it Romantic movies phase in Bollywood got over once Rajesh Khanna went on a decline and AB became the Superstar. People keep giving good romantic movies in between but the romantic movies phase got over in 70s.

People keep talking about last action hero. I will say Last Romantic Hero - Rajesh Khanna 😊

There is no feeling.

I'm not sure what the problem is, either the script is bad, the direction is bad, the acting is bad or all of it together. They just don't get the emotion across as well as previous decades films have been able to. I don't think we're going to get another DDLJ or KKHH anytime in this decade.
