I have been reading so many posts about yesterday's Shyam/Khushi encounter & Arnav not defending her.. yes I have been thinking about this since 2 am đ god help me!!!
BTW, of course the reality is that this is fiction, the kidnapping track is so that Barun can go & shoot his movie etc etc...
I have updated couple of posts with my viewpoint (link below), but thought to elaborate on this further:

Thank you Eveline & Shalini your posts gave me this direction of thoughts...
Disclaimer, this analysis is only until Friday precap.. the story might twist on Monday..
BACKGROUND:
In Indian Mythology Ramayan, Ravana (bad guy) sees Sita (the pure one) & covets her even though she is married to Rama (good guy). The ruse to lure Rama is the Golden Deer. Sita is kidnapped and taken to Ravana's Lanka. She is resolute & stays in Ashok Vatika, steadfast in her belief that her husband Rama will come to rescue her. Rama with help of Hanuman (loyal one) & monkey army comes to Lanka & defeat Ravana. Rama knows that Sita is pure, yet Sita had to go through Fire to prove her purity. They return back to their kingdom and live happily until (well that is another story).
MODERN RAMAYAN With a Twist:
Shyam (bad guy) instead of kidnapping Khushi, kidnaps Arnav (good guy) and takes him to his lair. The ruse for this is telling Khushi he will tell the truth if Khushi can get papers signed. Arnav is kidnapped, but he is resolute, becoming more convinced that Khushi will liberate him. Khushi with the help of first Mamiji & then NK (loyal one) does just that.. Khushi has to fight the bad guy to defeat him. Arnav knows Khushi is pure, yet knows she has to go through fire to prove her purity...
I know that Forum members are torn with last couple of episodes, here is my take on it (please be gentle if you disagreeđ¤)
Khushi had to make the accusations, bring out all the charges since she is the only one who knows the entire story... So first she talks to Mami about the beginning, then with NK she elaborates the next sequences so the whole family, including Arnav knows about the entire plot, of how dangerous & devious Shyam is... She would also know that Shyam would deny everything & turn if back to her..
She hadn't counted on Shyam knowing about the switched Locket or taking of the papers, or Mami having heard the Divorce conversation... even with these setbacks she is holding firm that she is right & Shyam is wrong..
It was Payal who bring out the information of the engagement, not Khushi.. that is when Shyam starts bad mouthing not only Khushi but the Gupta sisters..
Yet Arnav is silent.. why... it goes against all his instinct as you can see clearly (great job Barun) pulls himself back from interfering.. why.. why..
I think as a Modern Woman, it was very liberating to see Arnav to yield the floor to Khushi.. given his ASR tendency to take charge.. it is absolutely his respect for Khushi that makes him take a back seat.. he trusts her, he believes in her.. he silently supports her, yet does not want to take over... because he knows she is a very strong woman.. she does not need to be protected by a man...
But the moment she asks for his assitance, there is no hesitation at all, ASR is back.. no questions asked.. Slap for Di, Slap for misbehaving with my wife.. grab collar, you are a nobody to me and to my family, I don't need to give you any justification, you are beneath all that, Get LOST.
We will have to wait until Monday to see if or what he explains to his family.. to Shyam, he doesn't need to give any explanations.. he is not worth it...
This from another post, but I very stongly feel this:
My take, he already has given her something more precious than love, which she always suspected & always had,
respect and equality to the daughter of the house Di, a
belonging as an equal in a household... Khushi would want no more than that.. she has since the death of her parents searched for this belonging.. while she knew she was loved in her Uncle/Aunt's home.. she knew she was never equal to Payal.. time & again she had to prove her innocence rather than her word being believed without a doubt.. Today Arnav has given her that... and it is
priceless to her..
As I have mentioned in other posts, however to atone, I would love Arnav to give Khushi her dream wedding, the one she describes to her friends.. bring her into the home not in shame but as a welcome member with everyone's blessing.. that is every girls dream... esp. Khushi's.
In this i am reminded of Amir Khan's show about runaway brides.. how one set of parents did re-marriage on 25th anniversary.. and the reaction of the woman... even after 25 years she yearned for her parents blessing..
Please give me your feedback, I know many forum members are young.. but as you go through life, we realize they are many shades of gray...
