CHAPTER 8

The doctor had advised Khushi to be with Anjali while Arnav was given a sedative. She was wide awake when Khushi went to her. She hadn't recognized any of them due to her temporary memory loss. She sat next to Anjali near her bed. Anjali smiled faintly at her and was about to get up and sit on the bed.

"No Anji just lay down"

"Anji??? Is that my name?"

Khushi tried to smile but could not.

"You are Anjali. Anjali Singh Raizada, and the guy who came with me earlier is your elder brother Arnav Singh Raizada. And we both call you Anji"

"Are you my sister in law?"

Khushi was shocked with that question.

"Anji, I'm your best friend. We three have been together from the age of 5"

"I don't know how I forgot these. I'm so sorry..."

"Khushi, need not be sorry, it was never in your hands. Don't worry I'll bring you back!"

"Where is he?"

"He suffered a shock when he learnt that you have lost your memory. He has ended up loosing his mental stability"

"What? All because of me"

"Dont worry Anji. I'm still here. I'll bring you both back to the present, Khushi cant live without Anjali and Arnav, so I would go up to any extent for you both."

"Thanks"

"Wait., as Arnav says, maybe I'll end up in jail today!!!"

"Why"

"For killing you"

Anjali just laughed.

"I'll be back. Let me check out how he is"

Khushi went to Arnav's room. He was still under the effect of the sedatives

"Arnav, why did you do this to me? Why cant you just be normal? What will I do without you both?"

He wasn't in a condition to respond. She held his hands and wept. She didn't know when she had fallen asleep.

She woke up with a start when she felt some sort of movement under her hands. Arnav was awake.

"Arnav how are you?"

"Khushi..."

"Thank god Arnav atleast you recognized me"

"Khushi, you are alright na? Where is Anji? You know I had a bad dream in which I saw you both had an accident. Tell me Khushi, where is she? Is she alright?"

"Yeah Arnav, what has happened to her? She is completely fine"

Arnav started looking around and finally towards the door.

"Why is she not here?"

"Arnav, I think you forgot! You both had a fight. It was your mistake and she wont talk to you unless you say sorry"

"Really? I will say sorry"

"Not now Arnav. Now you take rest"

The doctor came in.

"Khushi who is he? Why is he here? I don't want anyone other than you and Anji around"

"Arnav, don't worry, I'm here with you na. He is here to see you"

After the check up the doctor left and Khushi was about to follow him but Arnav held her hand.

"Khushi don't leave me."

"Just a minute Arnav, I'll be back soon"

"Please"

"OK, I wont leave."

She sat beside him on the bed, caressing his hair while he fell asleep due to the effect of the medicines. She texted Shashi to talk to the doctor about the two.

"Doctor what about Anjali?"

"You can take her home in two three days. Just take care of her food."

"And Arnav"

"He is doing good while Khushi is with him. I think he can go home tomorrow."

"Ok doctor. Thanks"

Shashi informed Khushi what the doctor had said. Khushi decided to go with Arnav back to RM the next day after informing Anji and Garima and Shashi would take care of her till she returned home.

The next morning Khushi and Arnav were back at RM.

"Khushi whrere is Anji?"

"Arnav, she has gone to a friend's house for two days!"

"Without telling me?"

"Come on Arnav, you both had a fight, thats why she didn't tell you directly and she asked me to tell you"

"Ok"

Arnav was behaving like a child. He was not ready to talk to anyone except Khushi. he couldn't even tolerate anyone else near him. She took out dress for him to change and then prepared food for him. He was ready to do anything what she asked him to. After breakfast he took the medicines and slept.

Khushi then went to meet Anjali.

"Hi Khushi"

"Anji how are you?"

"I'm fine. What about him?"

"He is also fine. He is sleeping thats why I'm here. I've to go soon before he wakes up. And Anji promise me that you wont behave like you don't know anything or have lost your memory in front o him. You have to call him Bhai and act as everything is fine."

'OK Khushi I'll do that. After all, I'm the one responsible for this state of his right?"

"No Anji don't think like that. Now I've to go. Bye. See you there tomorrow"

"Bye"

The next day Anjali was home. She had almost recovered the only thing left was a small stich on her forhead. Shashi and Garima brought her home. Arnav was very happy to see her.

"Anji you are back? I'm so sorry"

"Sorry?"

"Yeah, I fought with you!"

Anjali looked questioningly at Khushi and she nodded.

"Thats ok bhai"

Arnav was very glad to hear that. He started laughing. Anjali was shocked. Khushi asked her to go to her room and take rest and she went. Khushi took Arnav to his room.

"Khushi, I think she is hiding something from me"

"Is it? I don't think so!"

"And you?"

"No Arnav, can I do so?"

"NO" saying this he hugged Khushi. she was overwhelmed by the emotions and she hugged him back tight, not wanting to leave.

"Khushi" Garima called.

"Ma., I'm coming"

"Arnav,I'll be back in a minute"

She went down to Garima.

"Khushi, lets go home"

"Ma, how can you say that.? I'm not leaving them. I'm staying here."

""But Khushi.."

"No buts ma"

"Khushi I and your dad need to talk to you"
