Laila Khan, the actress who had been missing for almost a year now, was apparently shot dead in Jammu and Kashmir according to the local police. Laila who was said to have strong links with the terror networks, was reportedly killed along with her entire family by three men.
This revelation was made during the interrogation of Parvez Tak, a family friend, who was arrested a couple of weeks ago from Jammu in connection with another case. Tak said that the murders were carried out over a property dispute.
Tak is currently in the custody of the Jammu and Kashmir police, while the Mumbai Police have also booked him for kidnapping Laila and her family on a complaint filed by Laila's father, Nadir Patel.
According to the complaint, Laila, along with six other family members, including her mother Shelina Patel, elder sister Hazmina, twin siblings Zara and Imran, and a relative, were allegedly kidnapped by Tak and another accused in February last year from her flat in Oshiwara.
The Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police has left for Jammu and will seek the custody of Tak.
Laila who was last seen in the movie Wafaa with Rajesh Khanna, came under the scanner post the Delhi High Court blast probe where it emerged that the Mitsubishi Outlander (MH02-AY-7867), which was registered in her mother Saleena Patel's name, was used for ferrying explosives by terrorists.
