Hindi films are promoted in more ways than one. As the movie progresses towards its release, one can notice various teaser campaigns and activities for the promotion of the film.
And there are some unique ways of promoting a film or attracting the audiences' attention like recently KRRISH was in news for a whole range of merchandising revolving around the film. There were facemasks, dolls, stationery, etc. having KRRISH printed on them. If we rewind further, Mallika Sherawat made an appearance for an entire episode of a television soap for the promotion of BACHKE REHNARE BABA. And how can one forget the unique music releases of Vashu Bhagnani's OUT OF CONTROL in an airplane, VAADA in a boat, SHAADI NO. 1 in a train. Kajol and Aamir Khan interviewed each other on a satellite channel in yet another promotional activity for their film FANAA, which added to the excitement of the two coming together. Similarly Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee became newsreaders on a news channel to promote their movie BUNTY AUR BABLI. And the best of the lot can be the HUM TUM comic strip in a daily newspaper.
Now it appears that the filmmakers are considering the reach of having an interesting website for their films. Seemingly a website is seldom used to involve visitors to get into the concept of the film. Usually there are contests developed around the film with freebies to attract audience at the most. This time around it is 'Sabka Bhai, Bole to (Lage Raho) MUNNABHAI' that has something unique in store. The film's website has a link called 'Joke of The Day'. One cannot imagine what's in store behind the link. To tell you the least, It's a pleasant surprise to have jokes on the film's website. Adding to the humour or the feel of the film, the makers have devised the characters (Munnabhai, Circuit, Mamu, etc.) in the jokes based on the characters of the concept.
