Navri - The Hawasi Mistress
One character that fascinated me apart from Kesar,Gulaal and Durgesh was Dushyant. My only grievance is that the character's full potential was never revealed. After the pre-leap he was relegated to the background which was an insult to both the character and the acor. The CVs had such a complicated character in Dushyant. There were still layers in his personality that could have been slowly peeled off after the leap.Yet they left this interesting character to lie in the doldrums and concentrated their energies on a dull, one dimensional character called Talli.OK so now that I have poured out my frustrations let me talk about the character.******************Yes. Not only Dushyanth but many other characters too got suppressed in the post leap.. may be the CVs were pressurised to do so..Dushyanth was such a character, which needed to be explored much more than what they shown in the show.. hahaha and Talli and the baseless triangle was the most annoying thing in the whole story.. instead it had to be Dushyanth Gulaal Kesar triangle.. which was far more meaningful...whether they have admitted it openly or not,. the triangle was visible all throughout.********************When the character is introduced to us he does give off some negative vibes but I guess in front of the ideal man Vasant everyone would come off a little selfish and negative right...In some way that is what led to him becoming the person that he was at that time.Just imagine listening to your mother day and night talking about the injustice meted out to them in the family with respect to both name and money. On top of that you have to compete with the perfect man Vasant day in and day out.Even if he did not want to do that, his family including MB and PB would have never let him forgotten that he needed to prove himself. We saw this in the case of Kesar too na so who knows Dushyant might have gone through the same.I do admit he was spoiled but maybe these reasons did contribute to the man that he turned out to be...and then he fell in love with the "dushman ki beti" the woman who changed his life. No,I don't think it was lust because he was not just won over by her looks it was her personality, her spirit, her liveliness that attracted him to her.He genuinely fell in love with her and wanted to make her his life partner.Who knows what kind of a person he would have turned out to be if Gulaal had become his wife.In my mind he would have become a better person but the opportunity never arose did it!Once again he had to lose Gulaal to his cousin Vasant.I think this is the point where he really started to hate Vasant.Until now his relationship with Vasant was a mixture of love and hate.He loved his broher but also hated him for being so perfect. His love for Gulaal turned into obsession and his character became darker.Yet even at this point it was not as if he was planning and plotting to kill his brother to get the girl.He had not yet turned completely dark. Then the fateful accident took place and even here if you see he was first starting to help Vasant but then he hears Vasant murmur Gulaal's name and that just sets him off.His anger, frustration and obsession comes into foreground and his humanity is lost for a few moments as the devil in him takes over.Yet as soon as he does the deed you don't see the glee and maniacal laughter that one gets to see in a villian's face instead we see fear, hesitation and maybe just a bit of tiny regret.Even at the hospital he remains fearful because he is not a seasoned villian or a murderer.Sushant was an absolute treat to watch in these scenes.I guess after this point he completely turned over to the dark side or wait did he?Yes he did some very despicable things. He tried to force Gulaal into entering a DV with him,he plotted and planned with his fmily to make MB even more helpless, even went to the extent of trying to dishonour Gulaal but there was one tiny little ray of hope...his relationship with Kesar.Of course he had his own personal agenda but at times you could see that he truly loved his little brother. We also get to know this post leap when he talks to Kesar in the bus.It did show us that he still had a heart...He went about showing his love for Kesu the wrong way which in turn distanced him from Gulaal.*****************Its so true that no one is born with bad qualities, its all circumstance that makes one good or bad, and that is was what clearly depicted through Dushyanth*********************He started to change and no it was not a sudden thing...The change was gradual and completely believable.Yet I cannot help but wonder that did he really become the saint that he projected himself to be?...I don't think so...and I am glad because that makes his character real.Yes he did do his level best trying to make up for his sins but somewhere he also was vain about that very fact.He used to pride himself on his ability to sacrifice his happiness and desires for the family. That shows his selfishness not his selflessness. If only the CVs had explored that aspect. It did come out during the confession episode when he blurted this out in front of Kesar.Inspite of all this I do feel that Dushyant had turned his life around. He had taken on the responsibility of the entire family and you could see that MB needed it at that time because Kesar was yet a boy.Still for Dushyant it was once again a competition and this time it was even tougher cause he had to fight a memory,a dead man who had now almost gained the status of a God-a task which was almost next to impossible-but he did not back down and he continued to strive.********************Exactly, he cant be.. because still there were the traces of the same love that he felt years back towards Gulaal.. the love was still there,.. and that was not his fault at all.. after all she was his first and only love in the whole of his life and he had repented for his sin through his life... he was not half the devtha as Vasanth, but a complete and a true human being and thats how his character becomes more relatable.*************************ok that's it from me.bahut kuch likh diya na.Sorry for the long essay guys...and Roshni thanks for this brilliant idea🤗I loved your post and that collage is just superb showing the different faces of this mesmerising character😊looking forward to the other posts and discussion😃
