Krishnaji,
Don't think Mena has read Manusmriti - at least the one we're seeing in DKDM! She's typecast as a typical loud, overbearing, know-it-all mom, the kind you want to run miles away from!
Its not about world view and its not about concern with children
its all comes down to three points
1) I know it all attitude
2) expecting children to conform with their views.
3) My children My wish attitude
even then she has no right whatsoever to dictate terms
as per manusmriti once children turn 16 you should stop being a guardian and start being a friend
after 16 children have every right to choose their own way of life and nobody has any right o question that
regards
Krishna

I dont think it is wrong on part of a mother to expect something from children...All the 3 points you had mentioned holds true for Daksh...but for Mena I think its jus pure 'Motherly Love'...once Parvathi talks with her and shows her that her 'views' are wrong...I m sure Mena will change for good
