I think the biggest setback that Priyanka has to face is that she doesn't have many options when it comes to her male costars as you mentioned. She works with SRK & Hrithik..her films do well...likewise, if she had films lined up with Salman (especially now) & then Amir or even Akshay..I could honestly see her surpassing Kareena & Katrina with box office successes. In today's times, it's all about connections in bollywood..unfortunately, Priyanka never played it smart when it came to that. To compensate for this loss, she goes for versatile roles, but they don't always work. It's kind of sad because I always found Priyanka to be most the talented & versatile out of her contemporaries. It's one thing that she's addicted to plastic surgeries , however she's a pretty good actress & I feel she's kind of underrated merely because she's not receiving the same box office successes like some of her fellow actresses only because she doesn't have those connections. lol
Mhmm, currently that is her main problem. She doesn't have options in regards to her co-stars, well in the big 4 (Khans + Akki), she doesn't. She can work with the entire young brigade, but it's not really the same. She's always been super inconsistent at the BO and doesn't really have any star power on her own. She hasn't been super smart in getting connections either like Katrina has been. She's always been picky with her roles, often wanting to challenge herself and not just doing the same flowerpot roles again and again to rise to the top...There are a lot of reasons why I don't like her, but that was the main reason why I liked her better than her contemporaries. Here was someone who wanted to improve, challenge herself, and didn't really take the easy way to the top.
I sense a change in her though..I think she's realized that she needs to work with the biggies and is desperately trying to get back into everyone's good books...hence the desperation to work with KJo, flaunting the friendship with Arpita, etc.
