😉😃 Now, I am back full force on DM and want to enjoy it to the fullest. We have had VIRGIN and SEX DEBATES. Now, I want to go deeper. Do you guys believe the DEATH PENALTY is wrong? I think it is essential for like murderers, rapists, etc. Some countries don't even have the DEATH PENALTY. And what is up with that? Shouldn't a psychopath who kills like 7 or 8 people be not allowed to live? Share your thoughts. Do you think the DEATH PENALTY is wrong or right? 👏

No.. I dont believe in death penalty, i think it's INHUMANE.

Even if the convicted has committed gruesome murder or rape I dont think he should be awarded a death penalty.

Just because a mentally uunstable(or whatever might be the cause for his committing crime) person takes lives of others doesnt mean his life too should be taken. What's the difference between the convicted and the goveernment?? The govt. would only take their lives under legal terms, under the Indian Penal Code.

However, he can be beaten up and given painful punishments for a while, which'll give him and make him understand and realise atleast 1/4 of the pain etc he had caused to his victims. He should suffer for a while for his misdeeds. That'll make him atleast realise what pain is..

next, i feel he should be sentenced for life and while serving his term in prison, he must be taught and IDK some psychiatrists should help him and make him a sane person.. (ofcourse only mentally unstable people can commit murders). In the end, the convicted must turn into a better person... this is what i believe in, now this, I call humanity...not death sentence. It's absolutely inhumane. If his mentality is still the same, well, nothing can be done, he can live his life till he dies naturally in a prison. Prison life is gruesome, brutal and worse than hell, as it is..

By killing him, I dont see what anyone's gonna get out of it. I feel one has no effing right to take anybody's life.

In a country like india its absolutly required and its been even said by SC judge himself.
Point is some criminals who do major crimes like murder's,rape,honour killings require this punishment also terrorist's like kasab and afzal guru
ther is no point in keeping some people alive and saying that keep them alive and make them feel the pain doesnt really work as its considered inhuman according to human rights.

I definitely support death penalty in some cases. People say even the criminals have the rights, but what about the rights of the victim? don't do unto others what you don't want others do unto you.

If a person is say schizophrenic, that is who I would consider mentally unstable.However, People kill others for various reasons-greed, jealousy, just for the fun of it--I don't think any psychiatrist can fix that.

Oooh good debate!

In my personal opinion, I think it isn't needed. We claim that we teach others not to commit the same mistake by using the death penalty and violence but how does that make any sense? You try to reduce violence by enacting violence which I don't find correct in any way. We say that others who commit murder are wrong but then by enforcing capital punishment, we are doing the same thing. Also, how can anyone learn from it, that's just a method of suppressing. There are other methods that can be used to teach these criminals what is right and what is wrong.

Furthermore, our justice systems are sometimes not accurate and fair and we end up taking the lives of innocent. There are many examples in history to prove that such as Derek Bentley.

I would tell you a story from a Rajesh Khanna movie, which relates to this...my dad told me this story.

RK while driving a truck in a drunken state kills Meena kumari's husband.

RK is arrested and Judge instead of giving some jail term,

asks him to live with deceased and support their family...until the family forgives him.

RK tries to run away many times, but police catches him again

In the end, Meena kumari looking at his repentence and sincere effort to serve his sentence forgives him.

RK by then is full of remorse and decides to not leave the family and serve them forever...

Different strokes for different folks.

Level 5: Un-intentional, one kills another accidently for example in an accident or was cleaning a pistol and it accidently fired. Was trying to shoot something and person jumped in fornt kind of situation. In law charge is manslaughter. No death penalty. Fine, jail time, etc.

Level 4: Un-intentional, one is loose upstairs and commits a one off crime with no history. No death penalty. Should be treated and then serve some time.

Level 3: Intentional, with strings attached. Was wronged or rage etc. No death penalty. lifetime

Level 2: Intnetional, no string attached. killed someone in crime etc. Death penalty. Only victim's family should be allowed to pardon

Level 1: Intentional, multiple murders, serial, mass, terrorist etc.Death penalty. No forgiveness.

No, I do not believe in death penalty simply because I believe serious offenders deserve torture.

As saddist as it may sound, I do not think dealth penalty is what they (sex offenders, psychopaths', serial killers, pedophiles' to name a few) deserve because it's like an easy way out. Rather making the person's life miserable and having them lead a torturous life is exactly what these social inapt monsters deserve.

If it were upto me, I would first treat them to become mentally stable, and then have them tortured every single day till they died. Even their death would be a torture. I would want to see them suffer just as much as their victim's families have suffered.

Actualy I cant agree ,eliminating certain individuals for their crime.. I believe Death Penality is not punishment... bt its a another crime committed by the society and its courts ...its like one killing morally acceptable, and the other killing NOT moraly acceptable?!!..if you want to punish a person...you can do it different ways, like put him prison life long or teach him lessons different ways ...!!

No i dont believe in death penalty. And why? because u r just showing the murderer and everyone else that it is OK to kill. If the murderer does it, it doesnt mean that the court has to do it too.
