Actor who plays TJS is 56 in real life! Shastri is only 33. Varan B is 36. Sucks that a woman at 33 has to play a mother while a guy at 36 can still be a lead. Anyhow, since I love this show and the TVS and Sugni jodi, I will turn a blind eye to the age discrimination. 😃😉

The other show Varun was to act in, is ending soon. Looks like Varun made a choice and it worked out for him.

Kamla ! i agree with u, varun is not as much old that he do father's role,but he is something different and want to do only strong role.. because of this he is famous as "proudy" 😆.. and earlier 6-7 years before he did a father's role in his show "astitva" .. there he was father of two young daughter ... not from the starting but after leap.. he did it very convincing way... that show was running almost 3 years and that time he was under 30.. astitva was also very unique show .. a young boy ( played by varun) who loves a women who is 10 year older than him.. he not only love her but marry her too..

he always do some thing different...that's why i feel he accepted JT's role... and i don't think because he has no work so he can do any thing ... he is not this kind of guy.. and he has some other option too except acting .. like theater , and he was asst. director of tigmanshu dhuliya in his some previous movie, not pan singh tomar... so he can pursue this kind of work..

What may have happened is, Varun was offered TVS (then considered negative lead), Narayani was also offered Gulabiya, reporter who may not have heard of Gulki/Anuj yet, but heard about negative lead forcibly doing sardhakai of female lead, may have erroneously made the connection between Varun and Narayani.

My feel for this is as follows. I think the first promos are quite clear in the sense that at least initially Varun was supposed to be negative and Anuj the saviour. Varun's character seemed quite different in the sardhakai promo too, more like a typical thakur. However after both characters were introduced Adi attracted mostly negative comments while TVS attracted fans, so now the production house is dithering a bit. Maybe they have prolonged TVS positive characterization just to see how the TRPs fare, while introducing subtle hints about Adi. If they feel Adi-Sugni have a chance to survive they will go for it. If not they may change the story to accommodate SugVi. I can only hope for the latter.😕

Actually TV is less discriminatory than Bollywood in that sense, thanks to Kekta-type leaps, many young men have had to play fathers and grandfathers also. Hussein in Kumkum comes to mind, the man barely looked to be the legal age for being a father to a kid let alone an adult.😆

In Gulabiya's case, she is supposed to be young also, about 33, she just became a mother at a really young age according to the story, so Narayani is not playing a white-haired mother. And while they have made no statements about TVS's age, they don't portray him as a 25 year old kid either, so they are more or less playing their own ages. As for TVS being the lead to Sugni, well if its true toh tumhare muh main ghee shakkar.😆
