thanks to colours

i just wanted to forward my thanks to colours TV channel for bringing such a good show for us. and thanks for repeating all the episodes on saturday evening from 5.00 pm to 11 pm. i enjoyed it.

Yep, I watched it but sorry dear not from india so can't really help with the trps :(

Thanks but repeats are not counted in the TRPs plus only those with the TAM machines in their homes can contribute to the trps of a show and there are only about 3000 or so installed in as many homes. Sad, but true.

I have heard that now those with set top box tata sky, airtel etc connection also contribute 2 trp.
Even dd in her twitter chat mentioned that.

DTH connections are privately owned and have no connection to TAM...when a TAM machine is connected to your TV you have to give your consent first...someone once said that these digital boxes come with TAm fixed inside and we don't know about it. That's utter nonsense.

The Tam peopleometesr are alloted to homes after a research is done based on locality, no of family members, their ages, their earnings etc..Once that's done these machines are fixed to the TV sets and the household is given clear instructions how to operate it. The TAm people come back every week to gather the info from these machines and that's how we get our weekly TRps.

And these machines are very few in number and that's why the TAM findings are not taken as the be all and end all of the popularity of a given show.

It's a business oriented thing and the TAM meters help the sponsors and advertising firms the most..this way, .they know which is the best place and time to push their products.

I did say this and more in another forum sometime ago and got shot down for telling the truth.

Yes, many actors tell us that sort of thing..they are told to say that in order to get everyone to watch and since not many people are aware of the actual facts, it's accepted as the truth,

I don't blame the actors...they are doing only what they are told to do.😊

Maybe 3000 is an underestimation but the actual number isn't large enough to give the true picture...considering the number of TV viewing public in India, there aren't enough TAm machine to be instatlled in every house..these machines are hugely expensive and are imported.

And, since it benefits only the sponsors and ad firms, the govt of India doesn't think it important and necessary to have many.

It doesn't benefit the government in anyway, you see.
