Both the men circled each other, not taking their eyes off of each other. Not even a blink. They knew very well that one flicker of eye and they would be on the floor, loosing. After a complete three rounds, the one in blue attacked the person in orange. A punch, but the other ducks the blow. A kick, trying to push the person down, again a fail as the other person jumps up in sky.
It was now the person in orange tee's turn to attack. A back elbow punch and a miss. A straight punch on the face, the person in blue ducks, leveling his body completely parallel to the ground. His ending posture was a hand on the ground supporting his body as his feet stayed firm on the ground. Just as swiftly as he had gone down, he comes back up, leveling himself to the face of the other person.
The bystanders watched, not knowing how to decide who's better than the other. Both - a complete match to the other. No flaws, no mistakes. Everything done with such ease that it surprised everyone. Then again, they didn't know why they were that surprised. Maybe it was because for the first time in life, the two of the best in the team were going against each other instead of working together to defeat the enemy.
The fight would have kept on going if there wasn't an interruption. One of them said, "Sir, there's another case."
Hearing the words, both of them stopped in the position they were. They lowered their hands that were ready to punch the other and pulled away their helmets as well. They looked at each other with a deathly glare. It looked as if they would have killed the other, if not for the interruption.
Everything around them was dead silent. Both wondered why and looked around to see the senseless crowd around them. Being their chief, the one in orange called out, "What are you all doing here? There's work to be done. Go on."
They all blinked hearing their master's order and left for work at once. They were on the ground floor, on the training ground where the fight between the chief and the best agent was going on. Little did they know, they were the best of the friends' Once upon a time, they used to have training together and were on the same level as the other.
Until one day, one of them was promoted to the chief place, seeing that one of them had to be chosen for it as both of them couldn't be kept on the position of chief. They didn't let that factor come between their friendship. They were close enough to let something like that break them apart. They might seem like the perfect balance for others. The known difference though, was only between the two. Only they knew the thing that kept them on a different level than the other.

The chief's name was Rajveer Shekhavat, the chief of the secret department. It wouldn't be wrong to call them FBI. The only difference was that they were secret agents and their name didn't come up in normal people, not even when FBI was mentioned. Their services were mostly for higher people in the world. They would complete a mission and no one would even find out what happened, when happened, how it happened and so on.
He entered the corridor that led to his cabin and two people on each of his side followed him. One of them briefed him about the case. "The case is of one of the politicians from India."
Rajveer opened his cabin door and asked, "Politician from India? Why do they need our help? They have the whole of Indian forces behind them."
He answered, "We do not know sir. He refused to talk to anyone but you and Agent Mallik."
As Rajveer set his jacket behind his chair, he stopped when he heard Agent Mallik, his first name being Karan, the one with whom he was just fighting with. What shocked him was that Karan knew this 'so called politician'.
As far as he had known Karan in all the years they had been together, Karan had always maintained a distance from the politicians. Something about past that Karan was still not comfortable sharing with anyone. Not even the people who were now closest to him. And Rajveer knew better than to ever bring it up. That topic always remained shut. Then how does this one only trust Karan to tell the case?
"Send Karan in." he ordered and sat down on the chair to do some deep thinking. They left to fulfill the order. Everything they did had to be done on a fast pace, and the building, along with its people, were so well taught and prepared, that everyone was trained in how to work around each other and use everything at the same time without getting in each other's way.

Karan was still out in the field, wiping the sweat off this face. He picked up his cell and speed dialed a number for the third time in the last minute. Again, it came as engaged.
"Pick up the damn phone!" he said as if the person whom he was trying to call could hear that. Strange, ill thoughts entered his head unwillingly on why the person could not be picking up the cell. "Kidnap?" he talked to himself with eyes bulged out. Then he over ruled the option. "Nah, the kidnappers will leave her back from where they kidnapped her if she was kidnapped. She would have created havoc."
"Then what other reason do you have?!" he would have continued talking to himself if not for the interruption.
The person asked, "Sir, are you alright?"
Karan nodded and realized the person was thinking he's crazy talking to himself and answering himself. "Yea, any doubts?"
"N-No sir." He fumbled to speak up.
Karan moved his head in a posture that scared him to speak up the reason for which he was there. "S-sir, C-chi-chief has called for you-you." He said, voice breaking at almost every word, clearly showing the scared and nervousness of his.
Karan refreshed his memory and tried to think of who this person was. He knew he had few bad habits but he knew that forgetting someone's face and the name that went along wasn't one of his weaknesses. "Are you new here?" he asked when his memory betrayed him.
The person nodded. Karan got in naughty mood and walked up to him, kept his hand around the person's shoulder and said, "Why are you so nervous? Listen, talk to me freely about anything! You have nothing to fear about from me. But that chief, I tell you, don't even go anywhere near him. He'll make you crazy as well. You saw how I was talking to myself right? It was all because of that bloody chief!"
The person nodded along thinking that his senior wouldn't tell him wrong things. Little he knew was that Karan was just having fun ragging him. A voice from the back scared the life out of Karan. It had just called his name out very sternly. "Karan!" It belonged to none other than Rajveer.
The hands around the person's shoulder immediately dropped as Karan heard the voice. Damn. Now I'm dead meat. I had gotten a last warning last time. This time toh this Gabbar Singh won't leave me!
Rajveer gave a nod that told the newbie that it was time for him to leave. Afraid for his own dear life, he left like the wind. Karan gulped seeing Rajveer walk towards him. He decided to play a bit cool to calm down Rajveer. "Hey Chief, you know, I was just thinking'"
"Karan, what was that?" Rajveer interrupted knowing just what Karan was trying to do.
"What was what?" Karan asked playing innocent. He got a glare in response. He continued after that, "Sorry, promise won't happen again. But you know how it goes! Newbies- time for making an impression chief. I can't hold that back!"
Rajveer rolled his eyes at Karan, knowing that nothing in this world will ever change him. Then again, he didn't want him to change. He loved his not blood related brother like that only, always taking things lightly, but being serious when time asked for it. Even after knowing all this, he would keep giving a taunt to Karan as it was just 'his way' of showing his love and care for him.
"Whatever. Listen, there's a new case and seems like the person knows you."
"Nothing new; everyone knows me!" Karan said praising himself, again to get a roll of eyes from Rajveer.
"Yea? Well this is different my friend. He's a politician."
That stopped Karan in the middle of pressing the lift button. They were going up the lift to their cabin when Rajveer said it. "Politician?" A shock ran across his face as Rajveer examined him. Now that was something you never hear or see on Karan's face. Mr. Singhania?"
Rajveer was more surprised seeing that Karan knew who exactly the politician was. Without wasting another second, Karan quickly pressed the floor button and waited impatiently for it to stop. Once it opened, he rushed to Rajveer's cabin, Rajveer stood behind him utterly surprised at this reaction from him. Nevertheless, he got curious as to why this particular politician was making Karan worried and followed Karan to his own cabin.
