Heya..! Hope you guys still remember me and the FF 😳 I'm really very sorry for the delay of months in updates. The numbers of sorry I say won't be enough... Life just got very hectic with 10th on board. Last day of school is tomorrow, Thursday, But I got off two days early as I had no more exams left. Lucky for me and my class mates 😃 The minute I got free after few personal things, I started typing... And guess what? I have 3 chapters written already 😳 They're all about 6 pages long with small font on word 😆 I typed so much Proud of myself. Actually, I was just typing this chapter but got carried away with the excitement of events that'll happen that I kept on typing and typing.. Aaand I'm pretty sure you guys don't wanna here my bak bak.. so here' the update. Hope you like it!! Next one is definitely better with loads of Maaneet ☺️ SO comment away and if I get enough likes and comments, then the next one will be tomorrow itself.. Or else you'll have to wait for few (2-3) days😛

Chapter 22

As soon as Maan walked out of the building, he looked back to the window of Geet's office. Obviously, she wasn't in there. He had made up his mind. He would get the file back and that's it, by hook or by crook. He just had to get it back!

He speed-dialed a number and then waited for the person to pick up. Once a person spoke on the other side, he said, "Connect me to Surya Handa right away." The phone call ended just as fast. He got in the car and decided to take a drive to calm his head down. That man had crossed his limit. Before, he was only harming Geet and her 'family'. Now he was harming the person he loved the most. The first time, he was too young and didn't even know her father. Now, he did, and he was determined to keep Geet safe. No one messes with him or anyone whom he considers family.

Minutes later, he got a reply call. He stopped the car just enough to listen to the other person tell him about Surya's whereabouts. He made a U-turn making the tired screech. Few minutes later, the car screeched to another halt.

The area was completely deserted and seemed like it wasn't used for years! Maan looked around knowing that he would find him somewhere around here only. Not finding any hidden place within eye-sight, he decided to walk around a bit and search the parameters. As he walked inside a bit, around the bushes, sure enough, he found a bit pit on the ground.

The stairs led more down in the ground till it became dark. Taking a few steps, he heard angry voices around. This proved to him that someone was definitely there.

"I see you're here!" said a voice behind him.

Instantly, he turned to check the source. He hadn't seen anyone come up behind him. Turning, he saw Surya standing with a goofy smirk on his face. Maan was no less. He gave him a hard look that said, 'You don't scare me'.

Surya continued, "You know Maan, you shouldn't be so predictable. You fell right for my trap! It's always good to see a lover boy acting love sick!"

Trap? What trap? Maan wondered. Then, the others surrounded him and he understood. Surya had gotten those files taken for a reason. He wanted Maan to come to him, alone. And Maan did come. He wasn't afraid though. He was Maan, The Maan Singh Khurana, one who makes others fear him. Not the one who himself gets afraid.

He watched cautiously as they walked a step closer to him. He said, "Just give me the files or else'"

"Or else? Maan' the Maan Singh Khurana, do you now know the ball is in my court? I make the rules. You don't. Not if you want your little love to be safe."

Maan wouldn't be scared of the threat. He didn't let it show on his face but he indeed was concerned about Geet. After knowing everything, one thing he had learnt. This crazy man could and would go to any limits to get what he wanted. So he decided to act along.

"Alright, your rules. What do you want in return?"

"That tape? I know she has it. I want it back."

"What tape are you talking about?" he asked as if he had no clue what tape was being talked about.

"Oh come on Maan. Drop the act. I know about the camera, I know about the tape she had and I know she has one more."

"If you know that, then why didn't you do anything till now? Why act now?" he asked.

"I just found her! Thank to you!! All you dad's efforts to keep Geet safe from me went to waste. All because of your action."

"Dad?" Maan repeated to himself. He questioned himself in his head, "How is Dad related to all this? They only know each other when they started working together'"

Surya seemed to read through Maan's mind. He continued with the answer, "Oh yes. I know you dad very well. He used to be my friend during college times."

Maan refused to believe that. "My dad would never be friends with an animal life you." He snarled at him.

"Oh true. The person he has become now would never want to be my friend. But that wasn't same all those years ago now, was it? Some people change some don't. I'm the one who didn't, and he did. Apparently one of those moments when he realized there was God and blah, blah. I cared least about that! He just left. I just didn't know he was the one who was keeping Geet away from me safely all the time. Not until you came along and met Geet."

Maan understood all that. The person his dad might have been before his marriage to his mom and before his birth didn't matter to him. He was happy knowing that his dad had saved Geet from this person's dirty hands. What he couldn't understand was how he himself became the reason that Surya found out where Geet was.

"Ah'another confusion? Well, let me clear this to you as well. Geet was supposed to stay in London for a while longer. But you insisted she come along with you. I guess she already considered you a friend and she agreed. If you hadn't insisted, I would have never caught a glimpse of her on the airplane. Spotted her then and following her since then!

Hearing that, Maan felt the urge of cursing himself! How could he forgive himself after knowing that he was the reason Geet was in trouble once again? It was too much for him to take. He had to let his anger out on someone. But he also knew that if he said one wrong word here or there, everything would be at stake. Not that it wasn't already! It'd just be worse than before.

"Now' back to current track, the tape that belongs to me?" he demanded.

Maan replied sternly, "That, you will NEVER get!"

"Oh, I get what I want."

"Not when I'm involved, you don't."

The heated argument continued in silence as both men gave each other hard deadly glare.

Surya was losing his patience with Maan. He ordered the boys surrounding them, "Do your thing till he agrees."

He took steps back and sat on the rolling chair to watch the live film in front of him. The boys surrounded Maan and Maan turned, keeping an eye on each of them. As one of them tried to punch him in the side, Maan grabbed him front his wrist and turned him around to put him in front of him. In regards to this movement, the attack from second person came on the chest of the first attacker.

The first attacker bent down in pain and stayed that way for a while. Maan lunged his feet in air to attack the second person and gave a blow on top of his head. The person fell down unconscious. Two down, three more to go.

All the time, Surya sat on the chair enjoying. Maan circled the other three people and very smartly, beat them black and blue till they were either unconscious or they were yelling in pain, lying on the ground.

Maan turned to look dangerously at Surya. By now, he was completely frightened. All his so called puppy dogs were beaten up and the only refuge he had was to listen to Maan or he'd be joining his bodyguards on the floor in no time. One thing he learned from this, never challenge Maan to a fight when any of his weaknesses were not present!

Maan said, "Now you get the hell away from here, from Geet and don't you dare look back."

Surya shuffled his feet on the ground to make a run for it and panicked when Maan stopped him. "Wait! You're forgetting something: file!"

Surya opened the drawer next to him and with shaky hands, handed the file to him. He left the room and left Maan to himself. Maan looked at the file and sighed. It was back' No trouble' at leouble...file and sighed. It was back...ast not in the near future' Or so he thought.

Surya came out the secret place after he climbed up the stairs. He looked back at Maan, who was still in the ground. He smirked and said, "I've only hurt your business till now Geet. Next are your loved ones."

He opened his car and drove away waiting for the moment to strike next.

I do not remember which comment I commented last on... But do know I have read all the comments from previous chapter... Will not reply to them though as it's been a VERY long time.. From here on out, I'll be fully active till the end of this FF 😃 Planning to end in the summer itself so you all don't start suffering again when school reopens. 😳
