After transforming from an ugly duckling into a confident, attractive woman in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Mona Singh who is now going to anchor Makeover, a show which gives ordinary people a chance to transform into swans talks to Pramita Bose about her link-up with Karan Kapoor, her culinary skills, friend Gaurav Gera and more. What did you do with your time off after Jassi.. wound up? After working non-stop for three years the sabbatical I took from work was bliss. I travelled to New Zealand to visit my sister and her family and had a ball of a time. I was a free bird and had great fun with my nephew. We caught up on the latest movies like Krrish and Superman Returns. Do you like to party? Though I'm not a party animal and usually shy away from discos and pubs, I do step out with close friends at times. I like chilling out with Gaurav Gera (Nandu of Jassi..) because we get along like a house on fire. What about your much talked about life love? Do I really have one? People are stalking me with this question and the media has blown this tidbit about Karan and I out of proportion. Karan and me are just good friends and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. These rumours I guess are a little price that celebs pay for the glamour and fame involved of careers. Are you a shopaholic? I love going on shopping sprees. I never bother about loosening the purse strings and buy whatever catches my fancy from dolls, shoes, jeans, gaudy saris or itsy bitsy knick-knacks. Describe your look? Basically, I prefer the simple, no make-up look with only a touch of kajal and lip gloss. But when I am at a shoot the make-up is loud and lipstick and mascara are a must. Are you a good cook? You name it and I can toss up anything under the sun. But I specialise in Punjabi and continental dishes. Rajma, curry, spicy chicken, pasta with white sauce and baked meat are my favourite dishes. What do you gorge on? I gorge on sweets like sandesh, rasgullas and mishti doi. When I am digging in to sweets, I gladly give my calorie count a miss. |
