Dang!😲
I didn't see the episode yet, but it sounds so packed with drama.😲 I'm kind of jittery now...it seems as if majority of audience don't want the truth to come out, which I find kind of disturbing.😕 It's only going to increase problems in Yash and Aarti's life later on, after they start to fall in love, urgh!
I used to really like Shobha, and she's still a positive character in my eyes in that she cares for Aarti's wellbeing, especially in comparison to the Scindiyas, but I kind of disliked her in today's episode. What kind of mother performs the last rites of her only child, negative as he is, while he's alive? I kind of felt sorry for Prashant today...not for what he did to Aarti and Ansh (I can't forgive him for being an abusive husband and a neglectful father) but for what he must have undergone as a child being raised by Shobha. She must have been very authoritarian and a strict punisher, and Mr. Dubey must have been the lenient parent afraid of going against his wife in fear of her anger. Just how much control did Shobha have over her husband and son, that it made her husband a mute and her son go against the family? I don't think Shobha's completely at fault for Prashant's offenses, but I do think she shares some of the blame.
It's interesting to draw a parallel between Shobha and Gayatri, after knowing so much about that. Shobha, who is supposedly the ideal mother and mother-in-law, has a son like Prashant who is ready to cheat his family and take them to court for his selfish wishes, whereas Gayatri, who is selfish, has regressive views about women and her daughters-in-law, and is manipulative has a son like Yash, who selflessly accepts another man's son as his own, risks his life for him, and goes out of his way to bring a smile on the child's face.
How is it that Shobha got a son like Prashant and Gayatri got a son like Yash? The laws of nature would dictate that Shobha deserves Yash while Gayatri deserves Prashant, but that is not what happened. This makes us wonder whether there is more to Shobha and Gayatri's nature than we know.
