Unfortunately statistics can be, and unfortunately are, manipulated to suit the vision someone wants to show.
There is violence against women the world over. I wish there wasn't. BUT in India, a greater percentage of it is perpetrated by other women.
It is an undeniable fact, that a woman's worst enemy is another women.
It is WOMEN who need to change their ways, for men to change their. If the women support other women, men cannot control any so called power they may have.

This is a very valid point.👏
I myself work in the social sciences field, being a Psychology major working on her masters, and I've also taken a few classes on womens' rights. India is definitely not the highest country in terms of female abuse. It definitely is up there, which is a sad fact for us since as you said, women are women's worst enemies in India, sometimes even more than men, but the top countries which have most violence against women are the third world countries. There, women have absolutely zero rights and many of them live lives of high drudgery and cruelty. Indian is not yet at that stage. In fact, it's starting to change and the lives of women are actually getting better. More of them have jobs than they did before, and horrible stuff like female infanticide and dowry burning is starting to recede too, though it's not completely gone.
Anyway, I'm done with this topic. Some people are so stuck up on their notions that women in India have horrible lives that I'm I have nothing more to say. This thread used to be a debate but now certain people are simply pointing fingers, bashing, and accusing others senselessly.

Just to remind everyone, I said India is one of the countries with highest crime rate against women, not that it has the highest crime rate against women.

Viewbie's Note :

The topic was about customs and joint families . I fail to understand why the topic has deviated from relations in a joint family to debate on Religions. Please stick to the topic in the context of the show PV.

If this thread continues to deviate, the thread will be closed without further notice. It is your choice ...whether you want to debate here in context to the show or continue it in the debate mansion.
